Poll question: Do you like the tone and posting in GD:P?
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 02:22 PM by Flabbergasted
Do you think moderators should be stricter in weeding out "inflammatory, extreme, divisive, incoherent, or otherwise inappropriate, anti-social, disruptive, trolling, and broad-brush, bigoted statements."

Or are things fine they way they are?

Keep in mind one of our goals is to elect democrats. Is GDP helping that cause currently, or hurting it?

2. I'll probably be TS'ed for my vote in this poll, but
I voted:
I'd like to see a lot more threads locked.

The Republicans will have all their work neatly done for them by just visiting GD: P after one of our candidates gets the nomination. There will be plenty of unlocked, undeleted ammo right here on DU for them to use against our nominee without having to lift a single finger to do any research themselves. Their slogan this year will be DU: It's all inside... Sad to see the place turn into such an archive of Dem bashing.

3. Don't care
DU doesn not represent the real world. If you read something here, odds are that no one else in the real world is thinking the same thing.

6. I come from a large family with fractious siblings.
Comparatively, GD-P is like a game of checkers in the park on a sunny day.

8. I would like to thank those who are writing positive posts
or posts with solid ideas of how to defeat the GOP. I know often they appear to sink like stones, but rest assured that there are folks reading them.

10. It the primaries...this is normal
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 03:19 PM by RiverStone
I agree that our bickering does not help in the GE...but,

Its the primaries - politics is a full contact sport - last time I checked, it's called Democracy.

The problem is - where can a mod possibly draw a line when it comes to your right to diss another candidate? Beyond personal threats - I don't see much of a line in the primaries. After the convention, the rules will change. If someone is bad mouthing ALL Dems and ranting about not voting Dem in the GE because (fill in the blank)...now that is entirely different.

But we all have the right to express extreme displeasure with who ever we want, under the assumption it is in the spirit of voting for the Dem we hope will win.

Personally, I try and refrain from being insulting or just downright mean - because insulting a Hillary supporter will only weaken my credibility.

I far prefer to express why Obama is the right candidate rather than why Hillary is the wrong one.
