*The Mind of Manson* --- What did you learn that you didn't know?
- She was president of the Young Republicans at Wellesley, before becoming a 60's student activist.

- She was a year ahead of Bill at Yale. I had thought they were in the same class.

- On campaign tactics, after Bill lost re-election as governor: "If that doesn't work, then you go in and try to beat the brains of the other guy out."

What did you learn?

2. Did she say that about beating their brains out?

4. Yes, that is her talking
A reporter is interviewing her in what looks like a hallway.

8. And people will argue that she is not politically divisive.
She sounds as aggressive as you can get in politics. I do not want her as my president.

10. It was rather shocking
But it was a long time ago. She may fight that way now but she would never come right out and say it.

12. Well, then...
as long as "she would never come right out and say it", then everything will come out OK!

3. That she equates neighborhood bullies
to adult government and is willing to "beat the brains" out of the other guy.

6. That she was madly in love with Bill, and Bill thought she was really smart.
Two different people said that.

7. Oh, that Bill got her the job on the Watergate committee.
Someone called to see if Bill would be interested in working on the committee, and he said he wouldn't, but his girlfriend might. So she got the job.

That's something, don't you think?

And where do you get off criticizing anybody's threads?

13. I saw the threads here earlier.
But I was kind of surprised when the repeat came on at 1:00 a.m. and it still had the same listing!

What else I learned: "Hillary was always running for something." - College professor.

15. I learned that she was a much stronger force
in getting Bill elected than I knew,

I learned that she's had the guts to speak her mind and stand up for herself since she was a child,

I learned that she's probably smarter than most women or men in politics today,

I learned that she's more decent and caring than most people have ever given her credit for,

I learned that she's stronger, and more progressive than her husband.

I learned that she's been fighting for women and children all her adult life and she's been completely honest when she talks about it during this campaign.

I learned that she'll fight like hell as the nominee, and no one should ever underestimate her ability to bounce back from defeat.

I learned from that bio, that she'll be the best president in my lifetime if given the chance.

16. That she had the fire needed to take it right to the Republicans
...like when she barged in on a Republican press conference in Arkansas and confronted the Republican speaking with his own past statements that contradicted what he was saying then.

That she was recruited right out of Yale Law School to work on a Congressional committee making the case to impeach Nixon.

That she was angry and frustrated that Bill's Administration would not fight for important sweeping issues any longer after Republicans took the House in 1994.

That she consulted with Jackie about the special circumstances effecting raising children to become well adjusted adults growing up in the White House

That America's media was potentially capable of something as crude as running a Hillary Clinton biography with TV listings still advertizing it as "The Mind of Manson".

That some opponents of Hillary Clinton are crude enough to run a thread about a Hillary Clinton biography under the header: "The Mind of Manson".

Actually I missed the begining of the biography which I regret. I already knew that she left the Young Republicans at Wellesley because she became a social justice and anti-ar activist.

17. Well it was actually Bill that was recruited, and he recommended her instead.
It certainly was odd that they ran it under that listing not just once but also in the repeat. I did like the young Hillary Clinton as presented in the docu. It's when she's been in Washington too long and learned her lessons too well that she lost me.

18. Sounds like you learned what you wanted too!
Do you really CARE about what WE learned? I don't think so!
This post was just ANOTHER charade and another chance to go negative on Hillary. If you really listened...you would have found she has accomplished a lot more important things and she has amazing qualities for a woman in her day or any other woman today. Hillary is absolutely wonderful! After seeing her biography...I'm more certain than ever that she is the one I can TRUST to make CHANGES in the issues we Democrats feel are important.

How do you know what changes Obama will make when he compromises and gets along with Republicans? Beware what you wish for. I'm afraid he'd bring us FAR to the right of center...that's not progressive! That's the only thing he can do to compromise with Rethugs. He even wants them in his cabinet giving away an important position or two to Rethugs and depriving some good Democrats of those posts.

19. Nothing new at all. In fact, out of date. That's the problem.
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 01:28 PM by TexasObserver
You have to focus on the beds they have made for themselves the past 4 years to really understand WHO Hillary is today.

As I have said, if Hillary version 1993 were running, I wouldn't be backing Barack, and neither would many liberals and progressives. Hillary today is unrecognizable compared to Hillary version 1993.

She has been corrupted by a love of power and wealth.

21. I agree with that.
I think you're exactly right. I canvassed on the streets of NYC for Hillary on election day 2000. She has been a serious disappointment since then.

20. Well, they dropped in the statement that bill stopped his
1988 presidential run because of rumors about affairs. Never heard that before but apparently it has become "fact" now.

It irritated me that they used David Longface. He does not like Bill or Hillary but gets used all of the time by the righties because he disses them. Gail is also someone who can not be respected on her "view" on Hillary.

All in all, I didn't like the piece because they used to many of the same old Clinton hating bull shit that they have used forever.
