3. The bigger picture behind my Thank You
Is there a better form of government than Democracy? Perhaps one of you deep thinkers may debate that there is but for most of us the answer is NO. Not just NO, but HELL NO! Democracy: a government "Of The People, By The People and For The People". A government whereby the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one and those needs get tended to! WE THE PEOPLE ARE OUR OWN GOVERNMENT!

See? There is not a better government out there. How many from Valley Forge to Felusia have died defending that simple concept?

Since the Reagan Administration our Democracy has been eroding, we have slowly given it away or let it be taken away by minority stockholders in America's democracy. We know this to be true because those lobbyists on capital hill represent the wishes of those minority stockholders. Every time they got their way, it costs us a measure of our Democracy. We The People, the majority stockholders in America's democracy, must always hold sway over those minorities...yet we have not been able to do so!

Tell me who benefits when Levi's takes it manufacturing away from America? Is it We The People, (The majority) or Levi's (the minority)? Tell me who benefits from those tax cuts to the uber wealthy, is it We The People or is it a small group within We The People? Tell me who benefits when the Military Industrial Complex decides that WAR is good for their bottom line and so they lobby our government to go out and start wars...do We The People benefit here or does the Military Industrial Complex? See how that works? Go ahead apply my simple model to everything the bush administration and the neo-cons have subjected us to all these years.

Can you see??? In each and every case, the minority have held sway over the majority. This has NOT been Democracy! Does anyone here feel that the minority should be the deciding vote in America's democracy? Hardly! Again I say : OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE!

The minority stockholders in America's democracy have taken over the Republican party. The individuals within that party, those who support it, have been duped into believing that America's democracy is best served by those minority stock holders. Recent history CLEARLY demonstrates how foolhardy that notion has been. The Big Oil companies don't give a rats ass about We The People, nor does the Military Industrial Complex, nor do ANY of those minority stockholders who have eroded away at our democracy. Their bottom line is PROFIT. We The People's bottom line has always been DEMOCRACY. This simple concept has been forgotten by us my fellow DUers: WE THE PEOPLE are our own bottom line!

Should We The People actually take back our democracy, we must guard against this sort of thing happening again. Those same minority stockholders can almost as easily take over the Democrats too! Some can argue that they do so right now. We MUST guard against that. As long as We The People tend to our needs as a whole, as long as we keep foremost in our minds that the needs of the least among us come before the needs of those who can tend just fine to their own, well we might just do all right.

We keep looking at this or that person as the enemy when instead the real enemy has been us all along: WE THE PEOPLE FELL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL OF OUR DEMOCRACY!!! It is not Bush, nor Halliburton nor Exxon nor Reagan nor any single one of these minority stockholders in our democracy, it has been us giving it away all along. Can we blame the car for not moving when we failed to put gas in it? Can we blame our homes for being cold when we failed to stoke the furnaces? Can we blame the Military Industrial Complex for a war in Iraq when WE GAVE THEM a measure of control over our own government?

Prior to the Great Depression, We The People allowed this exact same thing to happen. The minority stock-holders in our Democracy took it over, ran it to benifit THEIR business's...TOOK THE WEALTH of our nation into their own pockets. Somehow We The People woke up and took it back. We The People decided that OUR NEEDS, the NEEDS OF THE MAJORITY stockholders outweighed the needs of those minority stockholders. The majority wound up with Social Security, minimum wages, strong unions and JOBS. The minority ended up passing along a small measure of their wealth in order for that to happen. If this had not taken place, American democracy would have perished. The Middle class would have been reduced to a working peasantry while the Carnegie's and the Rockefeller's and etc. would have become our supreme rulers...our kings!

That did NOT happen and it may yet not happen again. Super Tuesday saw voter turn-outs the likes America has hardly if ever seen before. MOST OF THOSE VOTERS WANTED CHANGE. I have heard that Democrats got voter turn-outs at rates approaching three to one over the Republicans. If this continues through to the general elections, we will easily sweep a clear majority of Democrats into power. There will no longer be worries about Republican filibusters or Blue Dogs voting against the clear wishes of We The People, they simply will become all but ineffectual!

How often have we each wished for the other side to wake up? The truth is that BOTH sides are waking up... THE SLEEPING GIANT of America, Americas collective will to preserve our way of life, our very democracy, THAT AMERICA is waking up!

Can we win? Will we make it to the next election? Will America's democracy survive???? I can not say but this much I can say: THERE IS NOW HOPE! Where before I and many had despair you have given us HOPE. The results of Super Tuesday have given us that. The interests of We The People have clearly overridden the needs of those minority stockholders in our government...if it had not been so then the Romneys and the McCains would have led the way...sure they still got their votes but not in very encouraging numbers for them...or their masters.

So with all the kicking and screaming, the flame-wars and tears, the fighting over this or that candidate, all the over the top goings on here in the DU, YOU my fellow DUers have won out! YOU have sided with the needs of AMERICA'S DEMOCRACY, regardless of your candidate. Senators Clinton and Obama are CLEARLY head and shoulders better for America, for our very democracy, than ANY of those Republicans. YOU my fellow DUers helped make that happen! YOU my fellow DUers are fighting passionately for America's democracy and YOU ARE INDEED making the difference!

My most strongest gratitude to each and every one of YOU for that!

:patriot: CLINTON SUPPORTERS :patriot: :patriot: OBAMA SUPPORTERS :patriot:

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
