Once again, Obama says Clinton supporters will back him; not sure his will back her
This is the 2nd time in recent days, that Obama has said that if he ends up the nominee, Sen. Clinton's supporters will back him. But if Sen. Clinton is the nominee, he's not sure his supporters will back her.

Is he sending a not-so-secret message to his supporters, that either it's him, or the party goes down in flames?

He seems to be doing a "wink-wink, nod-nod" to his supporters, telling them NOT to support Sen. Clinton. And I think that's his way of saying either he's the nominee, or the party goes down.

Moreover, how dare he speak for Clinton supporters. I'm a supporter of Sen. Clinton, and I have no intention of EVER casting a vote for Barack Obama. So how dare he, in all of his arrogance, believe he can speak for us, and say we will support him.

Obama says GOP will have dirt on Clinton

By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer
48 minutes ago

CHICAGO - Sen. Barack Obama predicted Wednesday that Republicans will have a dump truck full of dirt to unload on Hillary Rodham Clinton if the former first lady wins the Democratic presidential nomination, and said he offers the party its best hope of winning the White House this fall. Clinton countered that she did.

He said if he winds up winning more delegates in voting than Clinton, they "would have to think long and hard about how they approach the nomination when the people they claim to represent have said, 'Obama's our guy,'" he said.

-snip-

Obama suggested there were several areas in which he could do better than Clinton against the Republicans in the fall.

"I have no doubt that I can get the people who vote for Senator Clinton. ... It's not clear that Senator Clinton can get all the people I'm getting," he said.

And he gave this exact same quote the other day.

I posted about it when he said it the other day as well:

You guys have poor comprehension skills, or are just trying to start something out of desperation. All election experts know that (a) hard-core Democrats will vote for the Democratic nominee, and (b) Obama is attracting independents and Republican support well above anything Hillary is doing.

20. I have been wondering...
are DUers really this stupid ? ..can this simple issue really be flying right over their heads ?

We all know that Obama has brought most of the new voters. Obama is saying that the people who showed up for him might not show up for Hillary.

And for some reason... these certain DUers cannot grasp this simple concept. Lets be honest now.

26. And how the hell does he know that? Barack and Michelle seem to be threatening people into voting
for him.

You have Obama now constantly saying he'll get Clinton supporters, but is not sure she will get his.

And then you have Michelle Obama saying over and over that it's now or never....he's not running again.

They seem to be trying to threaten people into voting for him.

It's sick.

And it seems like YOU'RE the dunce...since you're obviously falling for it.

28. Could you please quit embarrassing yourself and stop with this ridiculous notion
that Obama is the anti-war candidate.

This is the same man who in 2004 said he did not even know how he would have voted, and that there was no difference in his position on the war and Bush's.

And then he tries to cover that up by saying he was only trying to protect John Kerry and John Edwards during the '04 campaign.

He's an embarrassment.

What he should be saying is "Democrats will unite against the Republicans!" Pouting and saying his supporters will sit out if he doesn't win serves nothing but to boost his ego. And who pays the price for that? All America, if it means Republicans serve another 4 years.

42. Dems do not mind speculating on the polarization factor of
Hillary Clinton to the general voting public; but one seldom hears Dems discuss the polarization she creates within the party. It's a longstanding problem, not one that just appeared as the election materialized. Despite the quiet acknowledgment of the party elite of that fact, it is willing to risk her candidacy with the thought that when it comes time to close the deal, the base will fall into line as if it belonged to the Republican party. I doubt that will happen. The scars over the debate over the war will never heal, so why do people think this all-important issue will just be a scab by the time the general election process starts?

...that he, as a candidate, is drawing new people into the party that don't usually participate, and that if he's not the nominee, some will go back to not participating. That's been a consistent them of his message all along, drawing new people into the party. These sinister interpretations are ridiculous.
