kerry's website lame? dean to the rescue?
How many of you have checked out Kerry's website? Or made a donation online? What was your experience? I think his website is lame, and his email confirmation nonexistent. Look at what the Dean campaign did--Kerry needs to do this, meet the level of excellence achieved by Dean.

How can Kerry do it? Perhaps he should make an offer to Howard Dean to sign up his web team in exchange for a cabinet position.

In fact, shouldn't Kerry start naming a tentative cabinet of people who could serve with him to be on his team and campaign together.

John Edwards as attorney general?

Democrats campaign as a phalanx. We had a fine group of Presidential candidates this year and they might bring together a winning coalition by a team approach?

2. Kerry's site...
...needs Dean's website design, but Clark's blog community. That would really kick donkey.

10. Dean's website was terrible.
It was messy and too busy. That is not the way a website should look.

15. Yes
Deans website was too...visually cluttered. I used it as a project for one of my web mastering class in which we were asked to find a bad website (determined accoring to criteria set by the professor) and redesign it. Dean's web site lacked either a vertical or horizontal visual flow which made the site confused, while Kerry's site has a vertical flow based on columns with no visible dividing spaces.

Kerry's is pretty bland. In fact, Dean's is still up-to-date with a "Thank You" to Vermont, and a notice that he will announce his plans to build a new organizatin on March 18th this year.

I think that we should all keep this site bookmarked. I'm impressed at his continuing dedication and energy.

Kerry should definitely hire his web developers. He needs a kick-ass site.

BTW, does * have a personal website? Anyone know?

Edit: typo

8. crappiest website ever.
There are 50 things going on at once. this shotgun approach is the worst way to do a website.

12. My only complaint is that they...
should have some kind of monthly contribution system setup. They would get much more money that way... Instead of having people giving a one time $100 donation it would be better to get $25 monthly from them until november and get $200 bucks instead.

14. "Lame" is a little harsh. It could use some improvements here and there
Generally, the site is pretty clean. Plenty of ways to get to the issues. The Search feature works pretty well.

I do wish the "Printer-friendly" versions of issues were indeed more printer-friendly. The DHTL code to show/hide issues doesn't print out.

Overall, it loads pretty well.

I'd like a quick Bush vs. Kerry comparison for those that want quick answers...

I thought the Dean site had some nice tools for community building, but at times I thought it was too busy with too many blinking icons and such.
