How to Stop Bush
Let's hear your non-candidate related ideas on how to do this. It might be nice for a change.

1. Hmmm.
Reminds me of something Ari F-LIE-scher about getting Saddam out of Iraq, that there's a hard way and there's an easy way. I will say no more. Just reminds me, that's all.

2. Its simple enough
you have to attract the middle class, you know, all of us who see little benefit from government and endless taxes.

Oh, and our jobs going overseas like so many little paper boats.

And no action on corporate fraud.

First, you KEEP the middle class tax relief and improve it.
Second, you stick hard on national security.
Third, you really jump on corporate fraud.
Fourth, you offer a non-tax increasing means to retain jobs.
Fifth, you make darn sure you have no morals issues.
Sixth, talk about government waste. People always like to hear that.

to wit...

its STILL the economy stupid

and it helps if you have a southern accent (sorry, couldn't help myself)

5. Work hard, get the word out., stay focused
Do the grassroots work that is needed wherever you are..make the Pukes have to work hard in every state, every county, keep them tied up every day until we can give them what they deserve--the biggest defeat in american political history.

7. I agree with
pretty much most of post #2 as to substance.

But it's also all about activism. Adopt a new voter or lapsed voter in your precint. Get them registered. Go to the polls with them then go have a beer (or whatever). This one act doubles your vote and multipled by 10% of democrats who normally vote puts a couple million new votes on the table in 2004.

This tactic should be done even MORE stridently if you live in a RED state. Adopt 2 or 3 new voters -- make sure they have transportation, help with day care, etc. Do whatever it takes to get them into the polls on Nov 2nd.

Wes Clark. He will make an extraordinary American President.

8. It's all about one thing:
TURNOUT.

I have a plan for how George Soros and ACT should their monies.

We have 10 states that we should be concentrating on particularly -->
Gore won 6 of them closely: PA/MI/MN/IA/NM/OR
Bush won 4 of them closely: NH/OH/WV/NH

For the past two presidential election cycles, we pull data for each of these ten states. Precinct-by-precinct data. We identify the districts that Democrats have consistently done well in (~>55%). Those will be our Turnout Maximization Zones (TMZs).

April 2004: Volunteers go from door-to-door in our TMZs. They hand-out information on voting registration. The information is made non-partisan, to keep within non-profit organization laws and campaign finance laws. Since the precincts we've targeted are Dem strongholds, we inherently benefit anyway. The purpose of this mission is to maximize voter registration in these areas.

August 2004: Once again, our volunteers go from door-to-door in the TMZs with voter registration information. This reinforces and re-maximizes voter registration in our strong areas.

October 2004: Finally, our volunteers go from door-to-door, but this time with not just voter registration information.
They bring absentee ballots with them also, offering residents the opportunity to vote early if desired. This benefits us in at least three manners:
1) We alleviate long lines at polling places on Election Day.
2) We get votes of those who would not normally go through the effort of finding a way to the polling place and voting.
3) We have something of a paper trail.
Our volunteers also bring with them refrigerator magnets, on which will be a telephone number. The number, when called, will offer several options:
1) Service for those wanting a ride to the polling place on Election Day.
2) Report suspected voting irregularities.
3) Directions to the voter's polling place.
People usually keep fridge magnets; this would be a genius idea, if we could actually implement it.

If turnout in Dem-strong areas is a mere 5% higher than it is in GOP-strong areas, it could make a significant difference between victory and defeat. I hope some progressive organizations seriously consider this plan.
