HANNITY and colmes talking about new Clark ad
Edited on Tue Dec-30-03 09:24 PM by BobbyJay
Everyone said it was a good ad, some guy (congressman Sessions?) keeps refering to the party as "the democrat party". Drives me nuts. Nobody has anything good to say about Dean (so much for Faux propping him up). They had a MUCH harder time criticizing Clark (Sessions was bordering on complementing him). All they could come up with is that he has ties to CLinton. With Dean, they were all railing on him for being soft on terrorism, an Osama-apologist and colmes was even railing on him for the Jesus comment. With Clark it was just "Clinton was shown in the ad....um". I mean, the guy's a friggin general. It's hard to attack too much without looking bad I think. Thoughts?

13. His smarminess wasn't on tonight.
Sitting in was one of those blonde, thinks-she's-attractive, Coulter/Ingraham B team, conservative, wannabe bimbos who seem to keep popping up on Faux.

4. I'm sure they use many
tired old themes to try and attack Wes Clark with since they are pretty shameless in this regard. The question isn't can the Rethuglicans use something to attack a Dem candidate with but will the attacks have any sticking power?

This is the area where they are going to have some problems with Clark.

5. I'm sure they'll dig things up/make things up like they did with Gore.
But it'll be harder to do this with General Clark than
with anyone else. It's part of the reason I considered
him early on. Then he won me over as a substantial candidate,
one of the best we've ever had.

6. You were watching the wrong channel
if you were looking for Dean props you should have been watching MSNBC...Harball. Frank Luntz (REPUBLICAN pollster) was practically drooling over Howard. He just couldn't say enough nice things about him.

I agree with you about the General. He's PURE class. So far, the ONLY "bad" thing I have heard any pundit say about Clark is his bumbling the Iraq war question on his very first day of campaigning. He has taken the high road in this and it shows. I am so honored to be a Clark supporter! :loveya:

prior to the first primary is either very young, very naive, or very new to politics.

22. I think they are more afraid of what they wished for...
I think they may be afraid that the Dean "movement" could actually catch on and succeed. As much as they wanted Dean to be the opponent for bush, Dean is also the Democrat they would least likely want to actually see win the general election.

They're back to pushing the "Gephardt" as the anti-Dean meme.

15. Clark is creepy!
I was in the military for six years and dealt with a number of guys like Clark. Just because he is a General doesn't mean he can be President. He seems like an egomaniac that is being told what to say.

Have you met Wes Clark? If not, you're not in much of a position to compare him to those "creepy" guys you met. Nice smear by implied association though. These unsubstantiated drive-by character assassination efforts here at DU (against any of the candidates) are however VERY creepy.

Wes Clark. He will make an extraordinary American President.

19. I spent 9 years
in the military and I dealt with a wide range of 'types' -- pretty much the same types that I deal with in civilian life. I don't know exactly what types you mean: honorable, hard-working, ambitious, intelligent (like Clark). Yes, quite a few.

Welcome to DU :hi:

20. Dealt with a number of guys like Clark?
A Four Star who is a Rhodes Scholar in Philosophy? You know people like him? If he is an egomaniac, then why would he ever accept what other people had to say?

I am sorry that you did not have the chance to serve under General Clark, the people who did, report that he is truly a unique and caring individual. Go to his website and watch American Son, and I hope someday you do have the chance to know the likes of Wesley Clark.

He will make a wonderful president.

21. If Foxbots paint Clark as a Clinton man and Dean as an Osama man, then
we should nominate Kerry because he is clearly his own man.
