Obama beats Hillary over head with Iraq
Edited on Sat Feb-02-08 12:32 AM by usregimechange
Hillary Clinton thought she had driven a stake through it, but it turns out to be the issue that will not die: She voted to authorize the Iraq war, she refuses to say it was a mistake, and she refuses to apologize for it.

And Barack Obama continues to whack her for it...

First, he says Clinton’s vote in favor of the war shows bad judgment.

“I was opposed to Iraq from the start,” Obama said, “and I say that not just to look backwards, but also to look forwards, because I think what the next president has to show is the kind of judgment that will ensure that we are using our military power wisely.”

Second, Obama says that his opposition to the war is something he can use against the Republicans in the fall.

“I think I will be the Democrat who will be most effective in going up against a John McCain, or any other Republican,” Obama said, “because they all want basically a continuation of George Bush’s policies, because I will offer a clear contrast as somebody who never supported this war, thought it was a bad idea.”

Obama also implied that Clinton might show the same muddled thinking getting U.S. combat troops out of Iraq that she showed getting them in, and that this is why he wants a date definite for withdrawal.

We need to send a message to Washington: You will pay a price for supporting/enabling the Iraq war! They will think more than twice about ever using bombs in place of wisdom, about being completely stupid on terrorism!

8. Obama is a laughing stock..He doesn't get it! We don't care how we got in- We want to get OUT!
Does Obama need more Senate "experience" to figure that OUT?

5. Yes, Obama has the exact same record as Hillary on Iraq.
a) He was not in the Senate to authorize the war.
He did not vote for war to start.

b) Once the war started, he voted the same as Hillary to support the troops.
If you want to know why he did, watch the video of Dean, the strongest opponent of the war:

and see why Dean would have voted the way Obama did to support the troops.
