I am sure by now you have seen the Bush ads exploiting the deaths of 3000 Americans, for his political goals. Do you think it would be alright for the democrats to run ads showing the 547 body bags coming back from Iraq? Bush seemed to avoid this issue in his current ads. To answer my own question, I say no.

4. if he could find footage
of people cueing in front of unemployment/benefit offices (does such footage exist?), it would be better than body bags. Body bags are too easy to answer by saying: You voted for it.

11. No, but I'll tell you what he SHOULD do....
It might be a good idea for Kerry to start incorporating returning servicemen into his campaign. Think about it: all the vets he shows in his campaign are from his generation, but there's a new cohort of battle-scarred Iraq veterans growing every day, and nobody has more reason to question Bush than they do. With his ability and experience in organizing vets, Kerry can give them a forum, and voters will take them seriously.

12. What about showing pictures of the dead before they died ?
I think this would make a powerful impression on people if projected on a backdrop at the convention. They could have a minute of silence while the camera panned over all the smiling faces. Sure it's political, but I don't see any other way for people to comprehend the sheer magnitude of the loss.
