on the ticket with her?

Just thinking out loud here, but it does make a certain sense. Plus, he's available.

...In a move that surprised even convention organizers, the convention chose Ford by voice vote as Clinton’s running mate for vice president... http://www.news2wkrn.com/vv/2008/01/29/mock-veep-harold-ford-chosen-as-hillary-vp-at-mock-convention/

2. She and Harold are DLC buddies...
but Harold's family would bring a lot of scrutiny to the campaign. They are the reason he didn't get elected in TN.

4. shady ads...
...that played on interracial prejudices are what cost him that election. His family is a political dynasty in that state.

5. Exactly and it might be enough to put TN into the electoral mix.

I live in TN. I voted for Harold because I know he is not like them. But I am also well aware of what his family gets up to.

12. And the stories a very true....
They don't call the Fords the Memphis mafia for nuthin'!

Makes me feel sorry for Harold, as I don't think he is anything like his family. Don't particularly like him because he is a DLCer though. I did vote for him anyway.

6. I'd be turned off at that
It would be obvious pandering. Obama is not exchangeable, he is his own unique person.

7. It will be Clinton/Obama
With at least three of the other candidates being invited to cabinet positions within days of the announcement -- Edwards, Biden, and Richardson. If Hillary is the presidential pick, she will make a magnanimous offer to Teddy. They will run, effectively, as a team. (Better get the macro programmed to print "Kumbaya" when you hit control-k.)

McCain is already planning this kind of thing. The word is that Huckabee will be his VP, Giuliani will be offered a cabinet post, and he will have half the rest of the cabinet assembled soon.

Result? A massive win for the Democrats anyway. Largest turnout in history, possibly a 50-state sweep.

15. I would hope that Obama would think long & hard about any such
deal. He would be much like Al Gore, always at odds with the First Spouse. I've heard that she might go with Wes Clark.

18. Because he is black...
and if Hillary doesn't tone it down, blacks may get pissed off enough to stay home in Nov.

That said, Harold's family would be a drag on a Hillary/Ford ticket.

17. I can't stand him.
I'll never forget his response to being questioned about being at a Playboy Super Bowl Party: "I like football. I like girls."

Um, women are not a sport, asshole. :grr:
