I wasn't there but I got this e-mail about it and thought Obamites would be interested in it. If Obama is working this hard in Delaware I can only imagine how strong his campaign is in California and other big states.
Start:
Friends, how I wish you all could have been at the Grand Opera House today to hear Michelle Obama. What an inspirational talk. The doors were scheduled to open at 11:30, and when I got there at 11:30, the Grand was already full. They weren't letting anyone else in, and they were putting folks in the Baby Grand, which eventually was filled also. I had a seat in there but decided I HAD to get into the rally so I got up and hung around in the back. It worked! Around 12:05 someone came to where I was standing and said 7 of us could get in, and I was one of the seven. Wow! What an experience. She talked for almost an hour, without a note. I imagine others felt like I did after hearing her -- that there is hope for our country -- that things can be changed around -- and a new and different attitude in leadership is needed to make this happen. I left there feeling like we could save the country and the world, after all. One thing she pointed out that I had never heard, even as an antiwar activist. We all know Obama came out against the war before it started, in contrast to his opponent. But, even I had thought to myself that it was easy for him to say that because he wasn't in the Congress. BUT, he was in the midst of his campaign to be elected to the US Senate at that time, and he didn't stop to think that he might be making an unpopular statement with the Illinois voters -- he knew the war was wrong and he said so !!! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know you missed something special.
