An honest Query...Hav we really ever seen her slug it out with the ReThugs.
On either issue or "slimeball" accustation?

Was she out in front after the Healthcare plan was announced?

She got a psss in both Campaigns for the senate due to weak competition

I have never seen her get out in front on any issue as a Senator.

Again I am notbaiting her... I am just trying to think throu the last 16 years on issues where she has really done battle with the GOP or Bush.

The question goes to being battle-tested. Is there substance?

1. 2000 against Rick Lazio
The entire Republican establishment from top to bottom tried to beat her and she still won. Have to give her credit for that.

.............but not TOO much credit. :D

20. Are You Sure
Bush was running for office at that time - he was not widely hated as he is now.

Actually, he blew himself up by attacking her. Whenever someone attacks HRC, she becomes much more appealing to a certain group of voters.

2. I saw her at a senate hearing where she was in the witness's face. It was pretty
impressive. I think she'd be able to hold her own against the R's. nt

28. When she started running for the senate
her opponent was not Lazio, it was Giuliani. So I don't understand how you can say she avoided confrontation.

6. Rudy had to grab his crotch and run, he was so a-skeered of her!
He had the same condition Kerry had--Kerry went in, took care of business, and went back out on the campaign trail. Rudy used his prostate to 'get out of' having to battle HRC, because he KNEW he wasn't up to the battle.

And she cleaned Lazio's clock--he wasn't without debate prep help, either, but he may as well have just winged it for the plainly inferior performance he turned in!

Since you are not his fevered prostate, maybe you should not assume you know anything about it.

And she peeked out of the sheets sometime in 2007 and said something about time for a Change. Or Hope. I forget.

In 1992 by the Clinton Clan, the Man from Hope, he will bring Change.

And Unity, I don't know, that must have been snapped up back in the 1860s at the latest.

16. Perky no, it wasn't
George Pataki(remember him? He's the Republican who outsed Mario Cuomo and went on to be reelected in NY 3 times.) Why people think being a Democrat in NY is an automatic "win" is beyond me. Think Rudy, D'Amato, Bloomberg, etc. Pataki was very popular and a firm backer of first, Rudy, then Rick Lazio. Smartest thing Hillary ever did was visting every county in NY...especially Upstate NY & Long Island, which use to trend very Republican. I think she worked very hard and earned her win.

21. Obama has not yet been faced with Repugnant opposition...
Hillary has faced an almost constant battle with the right for all these years. She has been investigated by the full power of Ken Starr and most of the Federal agencies and survived cleanly.

No one has paid attention to Obama as yet. If he gets closer, the attention will shift to him.

Hillary can easily turn the GOP upside down in the GE. They know this. Perhaps some of the pro-Obama here on this board are really Repugs here to encourage the Obama people to stay with him.

Lots of conjecture, but then as an activist for over 8 years, there has been lots of similar GOP tactics being used.

Obama has not yet been caught in any crossfire. Lotta baggage comes with him.

29. LINKS?!
This is the voting record - go look it up yourself if you don't believe it.

Clinton (D-NY) voted for:

No Child Left Behind
USA PATRIOT Act
Homeland Security Act
Original version of Bush bankruptcy bill (absent from final vote due to husband's heart attack)

and of course

Iraq war resolution
All Iraq war financing bills before and after 2006
Effective Iran war resolution.

Not to mention the Pentagon/Intel budget increases.

Not to mention playing along on all of the War on Terror propaganda.

She did vote against the Military Commissions Act of 2006 and the 2001 tax cut, however, so I give her a 2 out of 11 on my scale - if you can think of more important votes than the above on which to differ from Bush, let us know.
