The Clinton Campaign is using the "We've Locked Down" CA meme....
as a means to supress voter turnout. If they can disenchant Obama voters by making them think their vote is meaningless, then they really will win CA. That is the only reason they're pushing this "CA is all but done" bs on on us. They're backed against a wall.

Wolsh the Broken Record, strikes again. :applause:

There's this little, simple thing called "confidence". It isn't a bad thing to display, y'know. Maybe if Team Obama grew a bit more of a spine, and stopped bellyaching about recounts, parsing voting patterns along racial divides, denigrating Floridian voters for wasting their time, etc...they'd find some of it too.

3. You're post and the OP have absolutely nothing to do with one another
I guess you've never watched the primarys before but you always lower expectations unless your only option is to raise them and supress votes.

"Lowering Expectations" is the sign of a loser. I'd prefer to see a candidate go into any contest, whether it is a debate or a primary or a general election, with confidence. if you prefer them to slink in, crossing their fingers for that trademarked Obama "Hope", then that's your deal. Not mine.

9. Funny....Obama never engages in these ploys...
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 10:14 AM by TwoSparkles
It was clear that Obama would smoke Hillary in South Carolina.

Never once, did he engage in this type of bravado. The man has class.
Hillary is a brazen manipulator.

Furthermore, I was a precinct captain for the Obama campaign in Iowa.
It was well known before the caucuses--that Obama was winning handily
and that Hillary was sinking like a bowling ball in quick sand. Guess
what? The Obama campaign never used a "We got it locked down...awww yeah,"
meme. They didn't issue statements or press releases that touted their
success, as a strategy to deflate supporters of other candidates.

To take this one step further, an Obama higher-up told me about these numbers,
just a few days before the caucus. I asked about opponents' numbers, and guess
what? The Obama campaign refused to release internals about their opposition,
because they wanted to focus on the positive---our win, not someone else's
failures.

Judging from your comments...grace, dignity, class and decency are not expected
from your candidate. In fact, the lack thereof--is rationalized.

Haven't we seen enough of this during Bush's two terms?

14. That is not true...I just told you that wasn't true...
Like I said (and I type 90 wpm so I have no problem repeating
what I just said)...Obama had the winning numbers and proof
of Hillary's imploding Iowa campaign--a few days before
the caucus.

He didn't tout his numbers, as a device to dishearten the
other candidates' supporters.

Did you even read what I said?

He had Hillary's internals. They showed her campaign tanking.
Obama knew she would come in third.

They wouldn't release those internals to anyone. Not even people
working in the Obama camp.

I was in Iowa---and he never "sent out his surrogates". What you're
saying is untrue. No one knew about those internals. Not most
people in the Obama camp, not the media, not the voters.

18. Just because you say it, doesn't make it the gospel truth
The "surrogates" bit is referring to people like Kerry, who waved his hand and dismissed Florida because of the lack of delegates awarded.

13. You're confusing class w/ lack of confidence which was appropriate in SC because he possibly could
have lost to HRC. Nothing is a given.

15. LOL!
You're saying that "nothing is a given". Well, isn't it true that "nothing
is a given" as it relates to California?

Hillary could lose California, couldn't she? The latest polls have Obama
trending upward and Hillary trending downward.

The gap is 3-4 points now, in the latest Rasmussen poll. Hillary was up
20 points in California at one point.

Yet, somehow....it's ok for Hillary do claim a "lock down" in California,
even though you just stated that "nothing is a given".

And please...you are hysterical. You think Obama "lacked confidence" in
SC, and that is what fueled his lack of brazen bragging?

Take off the pro-Hillary beer goggles for five minutes.

I hope you don't plan on driving with those on.

20. I think the word is insightful. Obama does not look confident but why should he? He lacks the
experience or gravitas that would foster confidence.

release a press release.
