Edwards speech today
Being a resident of Raleigh (I live about 10 minutes from Broughton High School, where Wade Edwards went to school and where Edwards gave his speech today), I was lucky enough to be present, and in fact about 20 feet from Senator Edwards, as he withdrew from the race. It was an absolutely electric atmosphere and a quite gracious, powerful speech by the Senator. Just wanted to say to all Edwards supporters here how impressed I was (again) with both the man's character and his speaking ability- this is the first time I've been able to see him in person, and he was even more impressive in a room than on TV. Congratulations to Senator Edwards and his supporters on a great campaign, and I look forward to working with you, whether he's the Veep pick or not, from now until November and beyond.

1. Thanks, he went out the way he ran his campaign
With class. I wonder how long it will take Kerry to decide on the VP?

5. Not really sure
He hired Jim Johnson today to head the VP search process, so it seems he's just beginning to give serious and official thought to it. Kerry's a man who likes to think everything through, and so I imagine he'll take a while to put together and begin vetting and narrowing down his list. I wouldn't expect a decision too soon, but I'm sure the search process will be high on the campaign's priority list.

3. I truely hope
that Kerry will seriously consider Edwards as veep. Edwards not only brings alot to the table, he knows how to work the crowds. This could be a plus for Kerry.

4. You're confirming what many of us believe. Thanks so much for the
first person report. I wish I could have been there too. It's a very sad day.
