The apparent contradiction between Sen Obama's political calculation to join the
Wal-Mart-bashing lobby, and his wife's profitable role with a company that makes money
from Wal-Mart, is being closely scrutinised by "opposition" research teams.


But if they point out that Obama's wife make big bucks from Wal-Mart,
that'll be just one more racial slur of which the Clintons are guilty, right?

As far as I know, Arkansas doesn't have many unions. Was Wal Mart expected to ship union bosses into the state so they could organize the workers to demand more money?

As far as your question, WalMart started really sucking within 2-3 years after Sam Walton died. I'm not going to look up the date (you can do that if you want), but there was a shift in WalMart's business model after his kids took over the business.
