Make no mistake a vote for Hillary Clinton is a vote for Hillary Clinton.
And a vote for Barack Obama is a vote for Barack Obama.

Right now the presumptive GOP nominee John McCain is leading both candidates by slim margins.

Those numbers are likely to change when we have a nominee and change again during the course of a general election campaign.

Both of our candidates have flaws that McCain can exploit, the biggest being his experience advantage.

But I think both Democrats have been domestic plans for tackling the economic downturn and the healthcare crisis and I believe that will win the day (I know silly idealist).

1. Great post
I'm an Obama supporter, but I thought that post you're responding to went a little far. Don't forget that the war issue isn't exactly a popular one for Mr. "We might there for 100 years".

21. McCain would be vulnerable on Iraq if we nominated a candidate who opposed Iraq....
...Oh....Obama opposed iraq!

Hillary supported it.

How can Hillary attack McCain on Iraq without flip flopping?

She can't!

26. I guarantee that Hillary supported the IWR
because she was thinking "I'll want to have a precedent established when I'm president".

2. People should remember, not a lot of members of the general public are listening to McCain.
Imagine how much his support will crumble once his comments talking up more wars and more casualties get circulated.

8. People are still thinking of McCain from 2000.
Wait till they see the Straight Talk Express was impounded by neocon desires.

12. ads with him talking about leaving us there for a million years, a
few choice barbs to make him fly off the handle and half the republicans staying home from voting because they hate him and he's toast.

5. Romney still offers us hope
On the other hand, McCain does offer the consolation of having the intellectual integrity to stand by his position on Iraq--and generally does so honestly. He's a straight shooter, but he shoots straight in the wrong direction on this issue.

18. but you're willing to let them go on believing that as long as you get their vote, right?
You have to admit that many of the people voting for Hillary are doing so because of Bill.

20. People vote for many reasons.
Hillary will get vote sbecause she is a woman.

Obama will get votes because he is black.

Hillary will get votes from people who love Bill.

Obama will get votes for being the "cool" choice.

Out of the tens of millions of voters that will decide between these two perhaps 10 to 15% will be aware of most of their respective policy positions.

Sad ain't it.

22. Actually, the ONLY reason anyone is voting for her is because of Bill.
If Hillary were just the Senator from NY, without the fame and recognition of being a former First Lady, she'd be considered dead meat right out of the gate.

19. McCain's greatest experience advantage
Has been his experience of having his head planted firmly up George W Bush's ass for the last seven years. Somehow I don't see that as being a great asset. We will beat Mr. Fewer Jobs More Wars like a rented mule.

25. Now working people have no vote
The remaining candidates are wealthy supporters of the investor/CEO class. They don't care about working people like me. I don't have a million bucks to give to their campaign so my voice doesn't matter to them.

Sad, but true. The democratic party has abandoned us.
