All-time LEAST favorite phrases from Kerry's stump speech
I'll be voting for Kerry in November. I'll probably even contribute $$$ to his campaign. But that doesn't mean I have to like the guy -- and it DEFINITELY doesn't mean I have to enjoy his stump speech, which is nothing short of dreadful. It's chock full of empty catch phrases, courtesy of Bob Shrum, the mastermind behind Al Gore's "People versus the Powerful" message.

Here's the worst offender:

"We need to put a man on the moon right here on earth."

Groan. Whever I hear this I want to vomit. I can't for the life of me figure out why they haven't excised this from his stump speech.

And honorable mention goes to this wonderfully pointless phrase, often found at the end of his speech: "A new day is on the way." Good lord.

1. Thankfully, no one forces us to listen to stump speeches
Glad to hear you may be giving $$$ to Kerry. I've never been excited about Kerry much in the past, but I am now. After all, he is the guy who is going to send Bush back to Crawford in November.

:bounce:

2. If I hear, "Bring it on" from Kerry one more time,
the TV will go out the window. It's bad enough from the mouth of an ignoramus...

8. No -- I think the speeches are written that way
Which kind of makes it even more pathetic, don't you think?

13. I don't mind his speech at all...but....but

I wish he wouldn't drone on so much. I think he's a great candidate, but sometimes his speeches get a bit long and I tune him out after a while. It could be the tone of his voice. After a bit, his voice kinda reminds me of the old Peanuts cartoons. When the teacher talked, it just sounded like "Hmmph blah blah Hmph.."

(ducking)

This isn't a flame! Just a wee bit of a critique. :)
