All Apologies
I want to apologize to anybody that I may have offended last night with any of my posts. As an Edwards supporter from way back I was upset about my candidate's decision to leave the race. Thank you for your understanding about my behavior. It is not representative of the usual for me.

I am dedicated to vote for Dennis Kucinich in the Texas Primary on March 9. In November, I will vote for the Democratic candidate. I am FIRMLY COMMITTED to being a part of an organization to reform our political system in this country and end PAC, lobbyist and undue media influence upon government. It is our DUTY as citizens to do so and I'm always up for a discussion on that topic.

As for now- it is time for "Our President (tm) w." to go!

1. That was very nice of you.
I didn't see them but what a pleasant gesture to see around here.

Glad to be voting along with you on 3/9. :)

2. Careful
There are some amateur psychobabblers here who seek out apology threads so they can 'analyze' you as a serial abuser, and alcohbolic, or whatever. It's kinda funny, but you should be aware. They'll be here in a few minutes.

:)

Seriously, thanks.

5. No Will, they just look for YOUR apology threads...
I will wait with eager anticipation to see if they give this person half the ration of shit they are still giving you. And when they do not, it will be just one more example to prove my point that it isn't about you or your behavior...it's about them.

8. When this poster displays the same pattern as Will
I.E. shooting off his mouth in an attempt to offend as many as possible, then coming back expecting a pity party because he apologized,I'll give him the same ration of shit I'm giving Will.

Will has earned his ration in spades.Deal with it.

9. How is offering an apology
"expecting a pity party"?

It's funny. I get called 'an abuser' by you wanna-be shrinks. I hope you don't have kids, man. If you do, I hope you don't verbally slap them around when they try to apologize for making a mistake. That would be abusive. My posting incendiary crap on a web forum is just dumb behavior. Your reaction to a genuine apology is, on the other hand, pretty messed up.

Kids are kids. I've seen your pic and you're not.

Sorry but just had to say that.

14. It's about perception Will...
they don't believe you were genuinely aplogizing and they probably never will.

And yes, you posting incindiary crap was kinda dumb...but you aren't allowed to do dumb shit. Didn't you get the new GD:2004 rules? ;)

15. The thing is
you post incendiary crap on a regular basis and then have to apologize for it.You've done this many times Will.If you can't see the abuser point that is just too damn bad.People who have seen abuse, whether verbal or physical,DO see the pattern.Fuck up,apologize, repeat.I wouldn't say boo to you if this was the first time, but it's not,and you know it.

Also, you're not a kid,You're an adult who repeats the same stupid behaviour over and over. And the sad thing is Will,we all know you're far smarter than all too many of your posts here would indicate.

17. My favorite was the witch hunt he started
about a purported DU Dean supporter that emailed Truthout to complain about him, supposedly putting his job in jeopardy, then edited to soften the Dean supporter references but by then the damage was done. The real rub on that, however, was that after that shitstorm he was back the next day saying his job was never in any real jeopardy. Real nice. And why couldn't that have been handled privately with the site administrators?

27. Actually
I stated that a DUer Dean supporter tried to get me fired. I never said I was in danger of being fired. Many people became concerned that this attempt would be successful. Each time such a concern was raised, I told the person that no, my job was not in jeopardy. I followed that up with a note from my boss confirming this. As for changing the Dean reference, I realized that I had painted with too broad a brush and fixed it, issuing an apology.

Here's my favorite part. I never got an apology from the person who did that. A couple of people here in the last couple of days have tried to state, as if it were fact, that I got fired by the Kucinich campaign. This is simply not true, but the accusation kept getting slung. It is an attack on my professional reputation, and upon Dennis Kucinich personally, given his remarks upon my departure. I never got an apology for that, either.

Funny, that.

18. Ya know he doesn't have to apologize for it...
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 06:15 PM by VelmaD
there are plenty of people who post incindiary crap on a regular basis who don't. He chooses to apologize.

And frankly I'm still not sure y'all's abuse-pattern analogy holds water. Posting incindiary crap hardly qualifies as a "fuck up" on the same scale as beating your spouse or emotionally abusing your kids.

I'm not disagreeing that Will doesn't do some seriously fucked up shit sometimes - hell, we all do. I'm not disagreeing that abusers fall into the pattern you describe. I'm just objecting to the way y'all are continually throwing that word "abuse" out today. I think you're overusing that word and it diminishes what happens to people who are really abused.

25. Some of us are childish enough to make mistakes, yet big
enough to admit to them. We may be sorry, but we won't wair a hair shirt and beat ourselves bloody over it asking forgiveness. If you don't want to play in the new spirit of cooperation, that is yours to deal with.

I'll have no more part in that game.

Yeah...well...I am rubber and you are glue. :)

Come on. Just about everybody else on that thread has kissed and made up with me...or at least agreed to disagree.

I don't like having to fight with people. I figure if we actually talked to each other we'd probably be able to find tons of common ground - I figure that's true with most people on DU. I'd rather group hug if we can and move on. I promise to try not to fan the flames any more today if I can help it if you will too. 'k?

I wasn't going to bring it up,but both of you had to get in snide remarks.

Dont bust people's chops and expect them to take it in silence.I wouldn't expect you or Will to do so.

I'll let it go now.If Will wishes to continue he can PM me.

I will cop to the fact that I fanned things because I seem to live to make smartass remarks. :)

The sad truth is that I don't even really mind you snarking back. But the mods tend to get testy if we fight too much so I'm gonna try to be a good girl for a while. :pals:

7. Don't forget to go to your precinct convention
It should be right after the polls close at your voting location...there will be a sign up somewhere at the polls as well letting you know the exact time and place.

That's where you can become a delegate to your county convention and maybe even on to the State convention in Houston. It's also where resolutions get voted on that can end up all the way up into the State and even the national party platform.

20. Well Tank, I'll see your apology and raise you one!
I owe you a big apology for snapping your head off all over the place last night. Fortunately, the mods deleted my obnoxious posts, but I am sorry for engaging you. I should have picked up on your disappointment and let it go, but NO, I had to try rasslin' with you. And nobody benefitted from that. Sorry, guy.

Thanks for apologizing, you're a classy guy!

Note to self: Stay the hell out of GD'04!

24. Staying out of it is probably the best thing right now!
We do have a lot to do, and Nov. will get here fast. FWIW, Clark was my first choice, but I can live with Kerry. Edwards would make a great VP, or perhaps he'll be the frontrunner in '08 if we don't prevail in Nov. (gulp).
