Raise a hand Kerry supporter who voted/will vote Kucinich in the primary
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 02:17 PM by blm
I'm curious.

I am getting a sense from reading the board that there are a whole lot more us than I first thought. And some of you seem to be longtime, staunch Kerry supporters, too.

I am proud of you all and I think we serve Kerry well by supporting Kucinich, too, because it reinforced the voices on the left, where Kerry is really most comfortable himself, imo.

So. here's a raised hand.

1. I dont count
because I was a Kucinich fan first then a dual supporter of both. My dad supports Kerry now and would have voted for Kucinich in the primary but if you recall my nana had a stroke. :hi: I got your pm. I am sure there are many out there too.

4. I considered it yesterday
due to your good example, but couldn't do it since I honestly feel Kerry would be the best president.

8. Not anymore
I was going to. But after today, I'm sending a President when I vote. I can't believe some of the garbage some Kucinich supporters are posting. I'm supporting my candidate in May, 110%.

10. I understand.
I feel strongly about Kerry being the best president possible for this time. I really do. I voted for Kucinich because he is helping Kerry by being a strong voice on the left and will be a great value when he supports Kerry down the road. Dennis is a LOYAL Democrat, and knows Kerry will be a great president, just as many of us do.

9. I wanted to
I wanted to vote for Kerry and give the delegates to Kucinich, but Kucinich didn't have any delegates in my district.

11. nope. kerry is the only choice now.
we must show solidarity and not do what vermont did and show disrespect to kerry. kerry is the man and we need to get on board with this fact.

12. Oh PUHLEEEEEZE! "Disrespect"?!?!
People exercised their right to vote for the person they wanted to vote for. That's how democracy works. I like democracy, don't you?

17. I'm as strong a Kerry supporter as they come, and I feel he has been
helped by having Dennis's voice heard. John Kerry is most comfortable being the progressive liberal he really is, and DK being in the race helped Kerry get back to that more comfortable position.

I understand that Kerry uses moderate language to push across progressive ideas and I am all for it. I think it's smart and distinguished and statesmanlike. But, I also think it's smart to have a few more Kucinich delegates at the table shaping the platform because they will reflect another aspect of Kerry, himself.

That's the way I see it, anyway. And that's why many Kerry supporters feel no conflict in being openly supportive of Dennis Kucinich, too.

13. THANK YOU!
All of you 'get it' about the platform, and did your part to assist the underdog in making those CRITICAL changes needed to push the party in the humane direction.

I cannot possibly thank you all enough.

14. I'm in PA
and if Kucinich is still in the race when we get to vote I will vote for him now that Kerry is in. I am a Kerry supporter, but I would like to give my vote to the most progressive guy possible. Kerry is going to have to go center to win the GE, and I accept that as a reality, but I'd like future candidates to know that there are votes on the left, if they ever decide they can afford to visit the left again.

and today, i donated another $50 to the DNC ...

i'm supporting Kerry all the way ... it's time to stop talking about what we don't like about Kerry and start talking about what we do like ...
