70% of California voters vote to destroy health care and education in CA
Last night Proposition 58, which will balance all future budgets through cuts in services and programs passed by 70%. It is currently extremely difficult for a student at a state university or UC in California to get all the needed classes to graduate in four years. With the passage of Prop 58, fees will skyrocket and it is doubtful that future students going to public colleges and universities in California will be able to get a B.A. in less than six years. Health care for the elderly will take the biggest hit and many hospitals will close and patients in need of care will die.

The reason for this tragedy: Democratic sell-outs who endorsed Arnold's corporate-windfall propositions. We need to boot out every Democratic official who endorsed Prop 58 in 06 and replace them with real Democrats. Phil Angelides gets my vote for governor in 06 for standing up to these traitors.

3. i'm very disappointed with california voters
56 failed, and both 57 and 58 passed. arnold has duped everyone once again. that idiot was also inside a polling place telling people how to vote. you'd think the governor would know that's illegal...

5. If he had been a Democrat, they would have arrested him.
When are they going to prosecute Arnold for all his crimes against women?

9. when I read yesterday that Palo Alto High school (one of the
best funded in the state ... long story but it was some sort of 'exception' rule to the state funding equalization formula) was even having problems with basic supplies (the kleenex stories)... I have to say it took me aback. Things were tight when I was working with Bay Area schools... but nothing like that. Now go to a concentration of wealth - with a higher funding base to begin with (I believe, but could be wrong)... if they are having such big problems and can't get the public to ante up.. then I can only begin to imagine how awful things must be in most other schools/districts.

I was very disheartened to read from afar (having relocated out of the area) that even my old neck of the woods voted against 56, and for 57 and 58.

6. Thank the democrats for that
as usual, we continue to be our own worst enemy. I doubt any of those propositions would have passed without the ads by Dianne Feinstein and Steve Westley, and other democrats, in a "bi-partisan" show of support, pushing for them. Why do we always succumb to the repukes, yet we never see them showing any "bipartisan" support?

7. Right On
You got that right. I heard so-called Progressive Jerry Brown saying something to the effect of he thought both measures were the best we could do in a bad situation.

What we have here fellow citizens is a spectacular failure of imagination. This is the greatest threat to this state and to this nation.

11. Dianne Feinstein is very much a guilty party in this.
If no one runs against her the next time she's up for re-election I am voting for the Green or Peace and Freedom candidates.
