BREAKING: Obama and Clinton tied in CT
Clinton: 40%

Obama: 40%

Edwards: 11%

And yes, this is a big deal. It's HRC's backyard. We'll see what other polls say, but this is significant.

3. Backyard? Whatever.
Connecticut is not New York's back yard. :eyes:

Good to see the race is competitive.

8. Correct
Connecticut is actually a suburb of Springfield.

Ah, good one.
I just can't stand the NY suburb BS. I'm closer to Boston than NY, and frankly, I live out in the sticks. It's like saying Virginia is DC's suburb. Tell that to people in Norfolk or Roanoke.

30. I was going to say a suburb of Holyoke
but that would just be cruel.

11. A significant part of it is. I grew up in New Canaan
My mother still lives there part of the year. I have a sister in Ridgefield, one in Wilton and one in Darien. I think I know the state fairly well. And Fairfield county is indeed next door to Westchester County- the Clinton's home.

21. I guess I should state I live East of the CT river.
You know, the defacto Pats, Red Sox vs Giants/Jets, Yankees line. It matters. Don't be caught wearing the wrong outfit in a local bar, or the dead part will happen.

12. You are kidding of course?
Many people in connecticut work in NY. The two states are very tied together.

within an hour of NY.

28. Technically, RI, CT, and MA is a Tri-state area also.
I was just pointing out those of us living in the not ridiculous priced (in NE terms) half of the state do not associate with NY.

But I live in Connecticut too. And it may not seem like much to you, but perhaps you haven't survived baseball season here.

33. CT is a funny State.
It is part of New England but imo is the least "New Englandy" New England State. The Eastern part of the State is more like New England. But you go over to the Western part, and it is different. Stamford to me looks like it could be New York. And teamwise there is division too. On the Eastern part of the State you find a lot of Red Sox and Patriot fans, on the West more Yankees and Giants fans.

4. Something quite interesting in that article.
Nationally, Clinton holds a modest lead over Obama in the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll. However, a Rasmussen Reports analysis suggests that something might have changed following Obama’s huge victory in South Carolina. The numbers still favor Clinton but-as every sports fan knows--sometimes the numbers don’t matter.

5. Try this.....
http://www.courant.com/news/politics/hcu-ctpoll-0119,0,7087100.story

In the Democratic race, Clinton is favored by 41 percent of Democrats, compared with 27 percent for Barack Obama and 9 percent for John Edwards. One in five Democrats is undecided, an audience Obama is trying to reach with television ads that began Saturday.

Poll may be dated Jan 20.

That means Obama shot up 13 points in 8 days. I guess it's possible. Connecticut always does why South Carolina does.

Of course, they're only a snapshot, but they're not completely without value. And some of the polls have been pretty close.

It almost makes me forget that CT voters elected Lieberman.

Almost.

29. I still think Lamont should run for Chris Shays' House seat.
Thereby making New England's entire House delegation a nice shade of blue.
