I'm sure repubs are still scared of Clark...
Last night, Tucker Carlson recommended Wes as a running mate for Kerry, and his cohort Bob Novak quickly refuted it and badmouthed Clark as if to say "don't give the dems any good ideas!" As if a lot of us weren't already hoping for a Kerry/Clark ticket.

1. I believe so
The repub talking heads would hardly mention Clark when he ran, or they would just use name calling technique if they did, "He's a fruitcake" This is a sign of their fear of Clark. They even suggested repubs were most scared of Gephardt, now come on, I was a Gephardt fan but no way they were scared of good old Gep!

3. Repukes Are Scared of everything they don't understand
and they don't understand Wes Clark because he is a hero in the military and NOT a repuke. they can't wrap their pitiful lemming minds around that concept.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

4. NoFacts said Clark
was a conspiracy theory nut, I believe. It pissed me off because nobody pressed him to justify his slanderous comment.

14. Pubbie's other insights include:
"I believe in peace through superior firepower."

in reference to the assault weapons ban.

Do a search on li'l pubbie's post history.

It is mildly entertaining.

Hi pubbie!

9. No, Wes Clark was NOT fired.
He was "retired" by Cohen and Shelton (A John Edwards advisor, btw) because Wes Clark thought we should intervene in Kosovo to stop the ethnic cleansing by Milosevic. Cohen and Shelton didn't want to intervene. Clark went to Clinton and Albright. THEY agreed with Clark. THAT pissed off Cohen and Shelton...hence the slanderous remark by Shelton toward Clark. NO, he was not fired by Clinton. In fact, Clark's retirement took place behind Clinton's back while he was out of the country and he was pissed as hell when he found out about it.

6. As the primaries have shown, Clark has little support.
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 12:05 PM by bowens43
To put Clark on the ticket after his dismal performance would be a huge mistake. Democrats, for the most part, want nothing to do with the general.

11. Besides Kerry, everyone had "dismal support"
Clark won as many states as Edwards and Dean, and more than anyone outside Kerry. Your criteria doesn't hold water.

7. I had to laugh when some pundit was asked to name possible
Kerry VP choices and went through the usual list sans Clark. He then went on to talk about the benefits of putting a General on the ticket and lo' and behold he was referring to Zinni! So transparent... please, anyone but Clark!!!! I'm not sure they are even permitted to say his name at this point.

15. what the hell are we doing
stabbing in the dark about kerry's running mate. First of all, if Edwards were the nominee, he wouldnt even win his home state. i know that for a fact because I live in north carolina and even though we have a democratic governor, this state is clear bush country. So dont expect edwards to be kerry's running mate. Kerry is looking for a southerner that will actually help him win in the south and edwards hasnt shown that he can. This all might be negated by the fact that kerry can clearly win in the south, by HIMSELF, but obviously this JFK still needs his own "LBJ" to give cheney and bush a run for their money. clark got his ass kicked in the primaries. Unless kerry gets pressure from clinton and other party insiders to make clark the vp, I highly doubt that kerry will run with clark. Bob Graham looks like a smart choice but for some reason I dont think that will pan out, just a gut feeling. Kerry wants someone with experience, so as much as I like Senator Bayh from Indiana, I dont think he will get the nom. either. Gephardt has a decent shot. Besides that, it's pretty uncertain. It's actually very uncertain, which is why we should a little longer before we start speculating.
