24. The REPUBLICAN state lege
cause they are the ones that "moved" the primary.

If I am wrong on that, let me know...otherwise it was just another way to disenfranchise FLA voters courtesy of the Repubs

2. What would happen if all states attempted to leap-frog the others' primaries?
Fla. knew the consequences and it made its choice.

4. Better that you hear our voices, and forget we have no delegates.
Silence is the best form of disenfranchisement. We should at least be permitted to provide momentum and a vote of confidence for our choices.

8. The fact that candidates were not allowed to vie for votes and thus impact
momentum is also a reason to protest,

12. Well, contrary to popular belief,
we have newspapers, television, and Internet. The VAST majority of voters on Super Tuesday will not have laid an eye on any candidate.

14. That is only part of the election
Canvassing, phonebanking, and events are what win. Why do you think Obama has done so well in all of the early states? It's his organization.

23. I personally wouldn't have cared.
Wouldn't matter to me if they'd all campaigned there either, but that's what the candidates agreed to.

21. I see. You would ignore those that made up their own minds,
drove to a polling place to let their voice be heard, even though they knew they could not reward their candidate with delegates.

And you would justify this because your candidate did not have the opportunity to place them on some robo-call list, place a yard sign on the corner, or slap a bumper sticker on their car?

Not campaigning and not having political organization may have depressed the vote, but to discount, out of hand, all those people who *did* make up their own mind... that is the real disenfranchisement.

22. Then why would any candidate do those things?
The fact is, those activities persuade voters. Door to door canvassing is particularly effective. It translates in to a 7% higher voter turnout for your candidate if a high enough percentage of voters are contacted that way.

Look at the races in the early states.

5. So...the state Party screws up.
Naturally, the only thing response is to take away the votes of millions of FL Democrats. Fascists!

The correct course would have been to disallow FL's SUPERdelegates since they are much closer to the decision to move the primary than the average voter.

7. That is absolutely the last thing that Floridas Democratic voters would want
Marginalize even the beauty contest aspect of their votes by ingoring their efforts to go to the polls and have their two cents heard over who should get the nomination.

Try telling someone who hurries to the polls in Florida after work to make their opinion heard, that out of solidarity with them you are going to refuse to even acknowledge the results of the election that they just participated in. Tell me how THAT goes over.

10. Same intent, out of Democratic party solidarity. All candidates agreed to this situation.
If party solidarity was important at the time they agreed to this solution, it should still be important enough not to sell out for personal political gain. I would hope that at the time that they all agreed to this, they knew that there would be plenty of selfish pressure to break the agreement when the primary arrived.
