Day one of the greatest political scandal to rock America:
No mentions on: http://news.google.com/
No mentions on http://news.google.com/news?topic=el&promo_msg=el
The single mention on a Google News search for "handshake" is a short AP article claiming there was a mutual snub: http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iwAZfoVaIxMG3gK2KY4tpS9QN0NQD8UFA9K80
One mention on CNN,com, in which it claims "Neither acknowledged the other all night."
No mentions on Fox News.com.
No mentions on MSNBC.com.
No mentions on nytimes.com
The NY POST, of course, has an article: "CLINTON, OBAMA SHARE FROSTY MOMENT," in which it states "Rival Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama came within a foot of one another just before President Bush's State of the Union speech Monday night and managed not to acknowledge each other."

One mention on Wonkette, during the minute-by-minute liveblog: "9:03 PM — Ha ha, Hillary reached over Barry Obama, which is probably racist in some way, to shake hands with Ted Kennedy, who of course endorsed Obama today."

But yeah, guys, this is totally a huge issue that the media is all over. You don't look silly at all.

1. It certainly has been mentioned on MSNBC this morning.
And The View. And on local news stations.

3. Every mention I've seen claims the snub was mutual. But keep pushing.

9. I'm not pushing....
I was correcting your incorrect information. You made the original post claiming something that wasn't true.

15. So now the MSM matters?
Isn't the common sentiment around here amongst the so-called "progressives" that the mainstream media is a washed-up corporatist elite? Why are you now scampering to them for validation? Or non-validation, as the case may be. This has appeared today on quite a few blogs, as DU user KennedyGuy has been re-posting this morning.

claiming blogs were trustworthy, notable, or in any way worth more than the paper they aren't written on.

Hint: You can't.

17. Actually, the media is trying to be objective, "Hillary went to shake hands, looked like a snub...
...Obama manager says he was just giving them room to talk."

14. Doesn't it?
I've only been here for a year or so. Some of the rationales/biases that I had such as most liberals are free thinkers or are better educated, has really been squashed. Many on here are as vile on the left as those wingnuts on the right.

4. Obama owns the media these days - not one Boston paper published anything on snub
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 11:31 AM by papau
Despite the Photographer attesting to the fact that he saw a snub and that the picture was of the Obama snub.

20. Bigger Day for the Repubs to cover today for the media
with McCain/Romney duking it out in Florida. 1 point margin in the polls and it's been a pretty dirty fight down there. CNN/Fox/MSNBC will be all over that today instead of some dumb handshake crap.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm in some Xbox 360/PS3 or HD-DVD/Bluray forum with all the childish behavior here.

21. Right. Everyone is talking about FL, a bit of SOTU, a tiny bit of Kennedy.
This handshake crap is weak sauce.
