Geez.

One missed (or distracted from) handshake and now you assume Obama has "disdain" for women?

Quite a leap there...and a ridiculous one at that.

Tell me you forgot to include :sarcasm:???

Besides, you and I don't get to decide who votes and how they vote...someone who votes differntly as I do has just as much right to his or her decision.

22. I couldn't agree more, however...
I think the reason some people here post these observations is because the vast majority of voters are getting their "news" (cough, cough) from MSM in the form of cable news, network news and, yes, shows like The View. They don't investigate issues; they go on emotional reactions to what they're seeing and hearing. It takes too much effort to investigate given the plethora of shit floating around out there, and if you don't go online to do it, well, you're pretty much screwn (lol...that was my first chance to type that..lol).

It's not right, it's pitiful, it's HORRIFYING, but it's the way it is. Whatever is being shoved down people's throats is allowed nowadays; very few have a voice to counter it.

Why so many here get into the squabbles is another matter. This should be a place to discuss issues.

That said, discussing how the electorate gets their information and thus may react to it, it worth noting, IMHO.

:)

been feeling about him the last couple of weeks. His nastiness, of placing blame on the Clintons for things he said, etc. remember at one time I was completely neutral on these two. My pick was Richardson, but I liked all of them. Then they started eliminating themselves by there actions. Hillary is staying on target except when she has to defend herself.

The Clintons think that American women are so damn stupid to believe that as goes "The View" then so goes the nation.

I'm going to do you the favor of leaving discussion about your sentence structure, punctuation and grammar aside.

Now:

What statement did the Clinton's jointly release that supports your statement?
Do you believe the Clinton's suddenly dropped campaigning to assume control and production of "The View"?

Sometimes, just once in a while, you might try thinking before you type.

Since I'm of the feminine gender, I can find comfort in the FACT that today's "American Woman" is far from the lemming that The Clinton operatives perceive her to be.

Just like in SC, The Clintons' operatives overplaying HRC as *all women* may just blow-up in their faces.

IMO, it's well past time for "the old guard" to realize those old "divide and conquer" strategies are dangerous to apply within a modern and complex society ... welcome to BLOW-BACK. ;)

One moment in time.

Ultimately, no one knows if it was anything more than a distracted few seconds - there may have been nothing nefarious about it at all.

But based on a couple of seconds Obama is now an "arrogant shit"???

That's all it took?

My only read on this is if someone were to come to such a dire conclusion over something so minor, I assume he/she had no plans to vote for Obama in the first place.

Would you want someone to assume your an arrogant shit for something like this? Your in a crowded room, you miss/forget/look away/cough/whatever and all of the sudden your an arrogant shit?!

What's wrong with that picture?

The only cognitive dissonance is that spun by the M$M and those that chose to believe it.

Petty bs -thats all. And if you chose to see it as more, be careful what you wish for --- I doubt the entire election would benefit from us crawling in the mud trying to find the next ridiculous thing to focus on.

50. Good Grief! How Desperate and Dishonest are you folks?
Talk about intentional manipulation and muckracking! Have any of you Obama bashers actually taken a moment to truly analyze the moment? Let's look at the two scenarios.

1) Ted Kennedy smiles and greets Clinton with Obama by his side. Clinton moves her way down the aisle to greet him, having to squeeze by people to say hello. Obama (quite rightfully) assumes that these two have some catching up to do so he steps aside, giving Kennedy and Clinton the respectful distance to speak without an immediate audience.

2) Ted Kennedy smiles and greets Clinton with Obama by his side. Obama is immediately furious with Kennedy (HOW DARE HE???) even though Kennedy just gave Obama the endorsement of a lifetime. Clinton approaches (HOW DARE SHE???) Obama uses his psychic powers to KNOW that even though Clinton is coming to greet Kennedy, she really, really, really wants a handshake from Obama. Clinton doesn't want time alone with Kennedy. No, she really needs to be acknowledged by Obama. So Obama does the nastiest thing of all time.....he turns away from Clinton!!!! Just as she's smiling and approaching Kennedy!!!! How dastardly!!! How rude, rude, rude!!! Why would Obama ever allow Kennedy and Clinton a moment together without STANDING IN THE WAY and making Clinton greet him first?

I wasn't there. But given specifics of the moment, factoring in that Obama's new mentor, Ted Kennedy, was right beside him, I highly, highly, highly doubt that Obama was searching for the rudest diss of Hillary he could come up with. I honestly think it would have been more rude to insert himself into Kennedy and Clinton's reconnection.

The attempts to smear Obama over this are nothing but DESPERATE. And sad, quite frankly.

DU used to be above this crap.

60. I don't understand why the networks will not show the actual video of the snub.
The SOTU address was on all the major networks and cable. It could be that the video is even more damning so they rather stick with the pictures.

68. Obama is a misogynist. He doesn't even want to shake hands with a woman candidate...
I hope that women in America see what Obama is really like. He has no sense of propriety.

:kick: and recommend

72. This shouldn't be a man vs. woman issue
I'm feminist and I don't think this issue has anything to do with sexism.

74. What a bunch of dim bulbs in this world.
There's a photo somewhere on DU of the entire scene with Obama speaking to Claire McCaskill. I guess if he'd taken Hillary's hand someone would accuse him of dissing Claire to suck up to Hillary. Any chance we might steer the conversation back to things like war or maybe Haitian kids eating dirt cookies or 18,000 uninsured a year dying?

75. Yep, also made it to Inside Edition
Saw clips of The View in Youtube and the audience booed when Whoopi mentioned the incident. Also saw a clip from Inside Edition and a political analyst was saying that it was bad for Obama to be perceived as not being willing to shake a fellow senator's hand.

Christmas in January, the gift that keeps on giving.........

76. Well, he should have thought about that before he acted so petulantly
in the midst of such a VERY public event where he should have known that every other photographer would have their sights set on him.
