MSM Winning! We The People Lose Again!
The MSM has made Clinton & Obama "Rock Stars" Why? Who OWNS the MSM? The right wing does. Sure, they call them on everything they do, but they still give them an incredible amount of airtime to do it!

First they started on the guy with the most liberal ideas... Kucinich. They wouldn't even let him in the debates. Can't have THAT message get out! It would sure hurt the corporations & screw up right wing plans for the country. MY GOD! He even wanted to get rid of Nafta! He was in favor of gay marriage! Okay they got rid of him. Whew!

Now they're starting on John Edwards. Less airtime in the debates... Try to shut him up if he says anything they don't want the public to know. Can't have HIM! He wants to do too much for the 'little folks' & we can't have THAT message get out anymore. It would be a disaster if he got elected. You know.. same thing they did with DK.

So we get either Clinton or Obama. I do think either one would do more for us than any repub, but certainly not as much as a more liberal candidate. They do owe the corporations.

So WHY does the right wing essentially support these candidates even while calling attention to their flaws? My guess is that they think they can beat either one, or if they don't, either one will work with them instead of vigorously opposing them.

I know most of you folks are not going to like any part of this post, but at least please give it some thought.

1. I question everything the corporate media reports these days.
They just cannot be trusted.

How many times have there been examples of the corporate media completely ignoring an event that would prove embarrassing to the GOP?

The Downing Street Memo, for example, was reported widely in other countries, but very little has been said about it here. And the information it contained was very damning to Bush.

When you have one corporation providing things to the military under contract, which is very lucrative, and they also own a broadcast network or cable network, do we really expect that they are going to report on things that might endanger those profitable military contracts? No way.

And they are under no obligation to report the news honestly, completely, or advise of other view points. So...they do as they please.

So when the corporate media goes all GAGA over a candidate, I ask myself what's in it for them? What is this person going to do for them if they are elected? Then you follow the money, and it's easy to see the corporate media is once again manipulating the public.

They've been doing it for so long, and are now so good at it, most people don't even realize they've been had. It's really all very pathetic. :(

2. The MSM directs the way people look at things
Not at issues. Let's look at appearances instead. Like Edward's house or Kucinich seeing a UFO. You know, when people take a quiz based on ISSUES alone, these two, especially Kooch, wind up being more popular than the other two.

4. Yes, exactly.
That's why they stifle their messages.
They DON'T want them to even be in the running.

5. Your post, caseycoon, is a good reminder. It makes me sick. Listening to Tweety this morning
fawning all over yesterday's endorsement event, using platitudes and big words and slobbering.

Kind of reminded me of Tweety's slobbering over Bush with the megaphone and Bush with the cod piece.

7. People are not going to like this post
either. Both Edwards and Thompson were virtually ignored. Candidates on both sides and the peoples' choices suffered because of MSM.

10.  I agree >
The MSM is responsible for everything people do and feel and buy including the candidates , they tell everyone how to think . I look at the Movie Network and it rings true . This is the most dangerous thing we have , they brought us bush and the wars and now try to tell us who to vote for and who to cry for and make stars out of normal people .

I don't look at the TV , always hated adds . They can make yesterday history and make you forget who you really are if you allow them .

18. They look at what the box says as truth and great knowledge
When in fact everything on there is fake and made up . People actually believe someone selling a product is someone taken off the street and willing to offer their time for free to endorse some product or they lost 300 pounds with fast flash photo's rushing by as if anyone could tell who was in the before photo's . They show cars zooming around some open road as if this is reality .

If they showed people drinking from a toilet enough times and made it look good and had the right person doing this people would try this too .

They can make or break anyone or anything , they have perfected this for many years . Nothing is by accident on the TV .

13. Yes, you're right and
we didn't really get to hear any of them fully, except Clinton & Obama. They didn't give anyone a chance to know all the candidates. You sure can't call it a choice!

15. NOW they're STARTING on John Edwards????
This guy has been INVISIBLE! He couldn't get arrested and make the news! Ignored for gee, I dont know HOW long! It's been ClintonObamaClintonObama for God knows how long. NBC/MSNBC is suffering from ObamaMania, take every single opportunity to insult, trash and spit on Hillary they can, from Scarboro, to Mika Obama Brzezinski, Tweety to even KEITH's Fixed Noise worthy performance on SC night.

I'm OFF MSM. I get my news on the internet now. I can't stand another minute of it. Even Keith. Two friends who cannot get anything but Fixed Noise (poor thangs) told me they see actually FAIRER news there than MSNBC. I knew they had to be lying or kidding, but they swear it's true.

Someone posted that the MSM has built Obama up into Jesus, Buddha, all four Beatles, JFK, MLK, RFK and any other revered entity you can come up with into one. True. And clearly not possible for ANY one person. One wonders what will happen when we hear the bubble burst.

They started on him before DK folded. But then it got worse. It keeps on getting worse. He is the only one left to speak for us, & I don't want to lose him.

19. The sad truth about the sorry state of Amerika.
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 06:07 PM by tom_paine
Not a Republic anymore. Not even close. Something new, and as yet undescribed nor named, as it continues to camoflauge itself in the corpse-skin of the old, dead Republic.

United States of America 1776-2000. RIP.

24. The corporate media fears ANYONE with a truly populist message
John Edwards has stated unequivocally that he intends to lesson the power of greedy corporations and their lobbyists. The MSM is very much a part of that, so of course they marginalize him. As John has said, over and over, they won't give up their power willingly.

NO other candidate running now has been that strong.

As for the pundits, most of them are doing quite well, thank you, so they don't care about the poor and middle class.
