Thank god I'm for John Edwards.

The man who claims to represent the grown up wing of the Democratic Party.

I'm sorry, but seriously...

This is turning voters off. Watching Obama and Clinton back and forth. I hope CNN and the media isn't playing this up like DU is. I'm not sure if they are because quite simply I ignored most of the press tonight because I was at an Edwards rally hearing him speak about issues. Not watching Clinton and Obama supporters here on DU bash each other into pieces about a fucking handshake.

Edwards supporters, I love you guys.

And tonight, I'm damn proud to support John!!

:)

1. Voters need jobs and health care, not handshakes

2. It's not about the handshake.
its about preaching Unity and a new kind of politics, combined with a snub. Irony detectors went off all over the place tonight.

6. Obama looked rude. Oh well. The outrage is extremely overblown.
Edited on Tue Jan-29-08 02:23 AM by Kerry2008
The Obama people will do anything to attack Hillary Clinton.

Even push forward fakely overblown outrage because the Clinton DU supporters are posting about this handshake or lack there of.

And the Clinton supporters lash out in return.

Like I said, I hope the media isn't covering this non-issue.

If so, this bullshit is turning voters off.

Obama vs. Clinton. Who can get nastier?

4. Maybe he should throw a pie at someone.
He might get some coverage. Edwards is the best candidate and the best candidate usually gets knocked off.

7. Or botch a joke. The last person I thought was best for America got a LOT of coverage for that.
....Maybe that's NOT the coverage he wants.

5. I envy you
I'd MUCH rather have been at an Edwards rally than suffering through SOTU tonight.

More and more, John looks like the only grownup in this race.

9. Yep. Let's here it for substance and issues!
Edwards didn't have either in 2004, but he sure the hell does now. Maybe losing convinced him that namby-pamby centrism wouldn't cut it? Anyway, I like the new version a lot.

21. I only speak for myself
and I say this whole thing is a bullshit strawman, meant to divert attention from the real ramifications of a Clinton nomination.

You take your road and I'll take mine.

17. Even Edwards supporters can't afford to laugh at it, tempting as it is,
because it is going to be used against us all. Divide and conquer. Who would have thought we'd end up with President Giuliani?
We had better snap out of this. This will be used to explain away why, amazingly, the Dems didn't win in 2008. The gay marriage or hanging chad of 2008 was the fierce contention between Democratic factions! (They always cleverly invent a reason why it is believable that the unthinkable candidate actually won, this is part of the playbook of how they have stolen two elections now and gotten away with it. Now they are getting so brazen because they have gotten away with it with hardly a fight, that Giuliani is bragging how he doesn't need to campaign to win, and how the winner of Florida will win the Republican nomination.)

We need to stop denigrating any Dem candidate and their supporters. We need to stop picking on the Obots for their zeal, stop slamming Clintonistas for their fierce loyalty, and stop thinking we Edwards supporters are the only ones who have a clue.

None of this has to do with staying morally superior or holy or being good, or being afraid of a fight: it is just a practical matter of protecting ourselves from the clever strategies being launched against us. And it will get so much worse.

There is far too much at stake.

into juvenile conduct. But, I am sure one of them will prove me wrong.

Yeah, you got that one ~~ John Edwards is the adult.

25. Re: "this is turning voters off"
Fortunately, very few voters will ever see or be aware of the "discussions" on DU. I am sad that MSNBC gave the damn thing so much coverage.
