is to play into the media's hands. They're just pushing this story to create a stir.

Everybody take a nice deep breath and move on!

21. Just had to K&R this one ...
My log-in this morning offered myriad threads about "your candidate has ties to worse criminals than my candidate".

Nice to see it finally evolved into thought-provoking threads about handshakes - implied, inferred, dissed, dismissed, offered, ignored - but by all means, fraught with meaning and implications for our nation all around.

Jesus wept.

who should run the free world based on politeness or lack of it then Americans deserve the shitty governments they get.

I couldn't care less if my PM is a foul mouthed uncouth yobbo - what are his POLICIES!!!

My god, multi MILLIONS are being spent and the defining arguments are utterly and compleetly irrelevant, which I suppose they have to be, any sustained analysis of their positions would have most people realising the differences between them are so minor as to be insignificant and millions were being wasted on bread and circuses.

My thoughts aren't they I don't give a shit ... the truth is, I don't give a fuck!

All I've seen is a picture followed by a lie from the AP photographer who took it.

Obama was still clapping and looked like he was getting out of Ted's way. Unless we see video, this one is pretty lackluster and tabloid.

Stick it up there with the latest photo of Britney.

What a waste.

79. Since I couldn't stand to watch the speech, I didn't see the
handshake thing and don't really care who was or was not snubbed. More importantly, how many Americans watched the SOU speech and saw it? Even more importantly, of those same nonwatching Americans, how many know who's running for president . . . or, for that matter, who is the current president? Remember we live in the world of political junkies, but we're also surrounded by many, many dim bulbs.

80. I do give a damn. My hesitation about Obama is that I don't feel I know him.
Petty little things -- and I freely admit the handshake thing is a petty thing -- help folks like me get a sense of who he is.

That's what the primaries do, show us candidates under pressure. The more microscopic examination of Obama's behavior in the primaries there is, the easier I will feel about defending him and voting for him in the general election if he gets the nomination.

86. I couldn't care less.
Much ado about nothing, as far as I am concerned. I am more concerned about Mr. Obama's and Ms. Clinton's stands on the issues that are important to me.

88. Agreed!
There are so many *real* stories that get overwhelmed by the endless flood of Britney b.s. and this is just one more 'look...a kittie!' story that we're supposed to get all hyped up about. I refuse.

89. I imagine it was simply an akward moment caught on film? I have not seen the video recap, but I
watched the SOTU and saw no mention?

92. I thought it was "the SNUB" ?

i think it'll probably boil down into "The Snub", which also sounds like a romantic comedy starring adam sandler and jessica alba...

103. I'm over it. No, wait...
Never gave a damn to begin with.

So glad we could get past that.

NOW... Moving right along to this checklist:

Universal Health Care
Stopping the Global Meltdown (otherwise known as "global warming")
Eliminating welfare to the "have mores" (or GWB's "base" as he likes to call them)in the form of WAR profiteering, Privatization of government functions, and corporate tax immunity
Justice and Liberty for All (and I do mean ALL) human beings - and first class citizenship for every American
Equal opportunity for All Americans - no, fuck it - let's include everyone on the planet, why not?
Repairing the damage to the foundation of our government that is the true GWB/Neocon legacy

Anyone who manages all or even half of the above deserves more than a handshake - they deserve a world wide standing ovation. Let's elect not only the President but also the Congressional representatives and Senators who can pull that one off, and then we can all stand in line to shake their hands. ;)

Trying to make the destiny of our nation turn on a handshake is by far more petty than changing course on a blow job.

107. I so don't care that I don't even want to hear what this dustup is about
I feel a bit out of the loop because my first reaction was, "What handshake?" And I have no desire to wade through the blow-by-blow of something so trivial.

This is not about the personal interactions among the Democratic candidates... this election is about reclaiming our country!
