2. Theresa scares the hell out of me during the campaign
not just what she says. But the fact that she is European and the fact that with these 2 you can say without much stretching that these are a couple of people drawn to money and power like few others in Washington.

I'm sure she's a nice woman but I'm thinking in terms of politics.

I think Elizabeth Edwards would have made the best first lady personally even when I was supporting Clark I thought that

3. yikes, have you got that wrong!

Teresa was against John running for the Presidency. Not because he'd lose but because he might win. It took quite a bit of convincing her that it was all for the greater good.

No, she has no use for more money and no need for more power. For that tier of society, getting put into the White House is a step down- a loss of personal freedom, endless scrutiny by foolish and imitatory and lurid people, a serious crimp on individuality and style and autonomy and travel and choice of company, an obvious pay cut to $100K. The only serious compensation for all these shortcomings is the ability to serve what is good to more effect than otherwise possible- even if that is in highly constrained ways.

I figure you'll see Wes Clark as VP.

4. She did marry 2 different prominent senators with presidential ambitions
and he married 2 women worth a comined billion dollars(about a third from his first wife and 2 3rds from Theresa).

And I really think Clark would be not a wise choice. First of all it would be like an admittance to the country that the dem party is weak on national security, complete overkill/overcompenstation. And 2, Kerry is very unlikely to win Arkansas when Gore lost it by 6 and a half points.

6. It isn't going to be Richardson. He has ruled out, and he shouldn't
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 04:18 AM by Bombtrack
leave his governorship half way through his first term. And he has too much responsibility for the convention to be doing double duty. It would also backfire as a clear attempt to pander to hispanics ala the drivers liscenses in California

And there is NO argument in my opinion how Nelson would be more prudent than Graham. Graham is wickedly more popular in Florida and nationally than Nelson. Bill barely won his last election. Graham has been elected statewide in FL 5 times, many times by landslide margins.

And with Nelson we would lose another senate seat in a year we could very well lose 5 or more in the south alone.

8. True
I'm just kinda skeptical, becuase Bob's presidential run was rather poorly done, he could be damaged goods.

9. He was a victim of circumstance. He entered it too late
Edwards had already captured alot of the early attention from people looking for a southernor, Dean had most of the hard anti-war vote, and Clark had just entered the race and had the momentum of drawing more from both of those groups.

It has little reflection for what he provides as a vp candidate

7. Good idea
This would be fun, to have avatars with Kerry and some of the possible vp picks. I hope the admins decide to do this!
