1. Y'know, I knew what the body of your text would be without even reading it
I just don't understand how someone's choice could be Obama or Republican. How are they remotely comparable?

6. sometimes you just get a feeling about someone
that you think their character is bigger than their ideology.

That, and all the Republicans just suck ass.

14. they're not
IMO, we've made the mistake of pigeonholing some repubs into "you love the lies...you love the fight"...um...hole. Truth is, some of these repubs are aching for transformation (or the coming together of America) as much as Obama supporters. They're sick of the divisiveness displayed over the past decade and realize that we're in deep doo-doo and need a uniter in order to survive as a country.

It's almost like, the experiment that is America is at a crossroads and the same 'ol same 'ol is killing us.

2. I've had that same discussion with a few people -
I've come to realize that even though we differ ideaologically, we are all still Americans and want to feel good again.

4. It's like the Reagan Democrats -- for a lot of the same reasons
We go with the "happy candidate" ... and Obama looks like he's having a heck of a lot more fun out there than any other candidate (on either side).

3. Same here.
My neighbor, a life long Republican, said if Obama gets the nod, he'll vote for him, no question.

5. Be careful...
My dad is a die-hard republican who...*gulp* supported swift boat veterans for truth...and..he was telling me the same thing. "I would vote for Obama"...but he would sooner throw himself in front of a bus...Deep in his heart, he just wants to see hillary clinton go down and he keeps telling me to vote for obama on Feb. 5.

Vote for Obama if he is your candidate of choice this season...because he is what you want and not because of what anyone else says.

9. I am a long time
member of a bi-partisan board. Several repub members will either vote for Obama (especially if McCain gets the nod) or will be satisfied if Obama wins the GE. More and more every day have said this. Truthfully, I'm floored...because some are the biggest Bush apologists I've ever seen. Unfortunately, a few Hillary supporters have lambasted them for this...which is sad.

Regardless, that's good news for Democrats.

12. It's got to be enormously frustrating for Hillary supporters
and for Hillary herself, that people who differed as much ideologically as they do with Obama as they do with her would vote for him, yet run fleeing for the hills - or worse, come out to vote against her - if she wins.

I personally have no respect for Reagan Democrats. Thus, it's hard to see much good when the reverse occurs.
