3. Somebody was touting Charles Fucking Krauthammer here not long ago.
Apparently there is no one too disgusting for the Obama cult to claim his support.

One's enemies are a better indicator of one's character than one's friends.

6. His support for the war is in line with the noecons, yes.
He takes other positions on other issues, though. Read some of them, then come back and tell me how many you agree with. You'll be surprised, I think. I won't, though. But if you want to eschew nuance and disregard the fact that a person that's dead wrong about one thing can be right about something else, it's your brain to waste.

11. Oh you think his view of empire and Western exceptionalism is limited to Iraq?
Maybe you should read up on Hitchens.

Its bad enough people post neocon crap here, now they defend fucking neocons?

No, it isn't limited to Iraq.
It's also not his only position. He hold views all across the spectrum.

And it's pretty laughable to accuse me of defending a neocon, and it only underscores my suspicion that nuance eludes you. I vigorously disagree with him on the war. I agree with him about other things.

34. I can't save his credibility, so no, I wasn't trying to.
That's all on him. I think if he laid off the gin it might be a good start. But I can agree with him and I can disagree with him. And I do both. And I posted about it.

Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 08:21 PM by in_cog_ni_to
:( He also detests most Democrats.

on edit: If Hitchens and Morris are defending Obama against Hillary...be afraid, be very afraid because OBAMA is who the repuke party wants to run against. If that is who they have chosen, it means they will and can destroy the man. At least the Clintons are use to the mudslinging and know what to expect and can fight it.

35. I am not that familiar with him

I just know he hates Reagan and Falwell and use to write for the Nation. I watched him debate some Religious Fundy and I thought he was on our side. This article was posted over at Huffington Post which is a liberal site.

38. I knew you would end up generalizing his religious views to other things.
People do it here all the time. Just for the record, a neo-con atheist is still a neo-con. And a drunk, fat neo-con atheist is Christopher Hitchens.
