We just lost our Senate seat in Massachusetts
The last vote just came in. It was neck and neck all night. But the Republican anti-gay union Scott R. Brown won by 330 votes over the pro-gay union Democratic candidate Angus G. McQuilken.

2. Is that close enough for a recount
In Ohio, our state Senate seats are large enough that a recount would be automatic with that small of a margin.

7. Been over at the Massachusetts State elections site
and they have completely different totals.

Not too sure how to read it though because they do not have Brown and Angus matched up. Anyway, they have Angus with 5 more votes than Brown. Angus has 4396 and Brown has 4391.

It would be great if Boston.com was wrong.

the MA State site is here

8. Well now WTF?
You're right on those numbers.I suspect a recount is heading our way on this one no matter how it adds up.

Thanks again for staying on top of this.

9. Could it be possible that this is only the vote to determine
who is the candidate for each party and that the seat will remain vacant until the two parties run against each other in November?

It seems that way from the State site.
