Anybody notice the exposure Bob Graham was given tonight?
He was on CNN and Faux. Grilled repeatedly about whether he would accept theVP nomination. He was very gracious about it all. He said (on both networks) that he will help John Kerry defeat Gwb any way he can.

Somehow I think the cable networks are trying to promote Graham as VP. Not that I would object, but I don't like the manipulation going on even if I do like the guy.

What do you think?

3. Hate to say it
But he doesn't have any charisma at all. And he's almost seventy years old. Graham has been an excellent public servant, but I think we need a younger face on the ticket this year (e.g. Bayh).

5. He has a lot going for him
I'd have to call him the favorite, given his experience and popularity in his home state of Florida. And if Reagan wasn't too old, neither is Graham.

Everytime he's been asked, Kerry has answered the same way about the Vp pick - that he has two criteria. One - that the person be absolutely ready to become President should the need arise. Graham clearly seems qualified. Two - that the person can help in November. And here again, Graham fits the bill.

I think the press are probably reacting to the factors I mentioned rather than pushing it. But who knows? Or did Graham call the networks maybe?

7. I'm sur ehe made himself available
so he could promote the idea.

Frankly, while I don't dislike him, he is very conservative and he can be painted as kooky a bit too easily. I don't know that the VP candidate is among those we are thinking of right now--Clark, Edwards, Richardson, Graham, etc. It might be a dark horse.
