I gave to Kerry...
It's all over but the shouting...

$25 tonight....and thanks to the ePatriot fund, he will get my $20 a month I've been sending in since August....

First: I was and am a Howard Dean supporter...but I am also a Democrat...my concerns about Kerry are (not that he won't win....electability is nonsense, not that he's boring, etc.), but that he is unresponsive to the rank and file movement that emerged in the Clark-Dean-Kucinich camps...I feel that he is an "old school" Democrat and may not fully exploit the potential we have to rebuild the dead grass roots we had in the Party (don't believe me...go to the next Dem meeting in your town and see who is running things....oiy)...

I will not cut of my nose to spite my face...

Second: For all of the issues I have with Kerry....he's a thousand light years ahead of Bush! And again...I am a Democrat!

Third: I have not given up on my fight to rid this party of the special interests who have bought off our elected officials...it is not completely their fault....we stopped giving, which further pushed them towards soft money....I have registered myself as a precinct captain in the upcoming Michigan primary in August....learn from the commies folks...infiltrate and turn!!! that's all I'm sayin!!!

Fourth: I will be treating my service to my party like national guard service (no not the Bush kind!!!), one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer!!! I will not allow the repugs to get up on us like this again!!!!!!!!!! Instead of complaining about how bad the Party is...I'm going to put effort into changing the Party for the better...by rebuilding the grass roots that we allowed to wither...

Fifth: I will fight to help elect progress and liberal candidate who are not afraid to stand up for their principles! The reason we get our brains bashed in is because of money...repugs outspend us 10-1!!!! If we can get that amount down to 3-1 or even, we will kick their asses every time!!! The majority of American's hold the same liberal-progressive values that we all share...we lose because the repugs get to pick the issues with outspending us....NO MORE!!!!

I will not berate anyone for going with their conscience...nor will I ask others to follow me....I am simply posting this in the hopes that others who may share my views will know that they are not alone and that the fight is not over.....Not by a long shot!!!

For those who like to sit in the smoke filled rooms with the doors locked....look out!!!!

With the ePatriots fund, I'll be at $160 + $25 = $185....so I guess that's not so bad....

6. I will Pledge $25 tonight.
To JFK II. Kerry will carry the ABB torch. He must be well funded and now!! to have a rapid response against the BFEE corporate GOP whore machine. They say they have 150 million. It's likely a lot higher. You know those Rethugs like to consolidate capitol and not tell anyone. BFEE = "Satan laughs and spreads his wings."

If 10 million People donate just $25 to Kerry, ABB and our nominee will have $250 million to fight back a beat the BFEE.

8. Great post
And I can only hope that if the situation had been reversed I would have been as gracious, and as forward-looking and action-oriented.

9. Thanks, it takes as many oars
in the water that we can to beat Bush.

I didn't contribute to any of the primary candidates, but I've been saving up some money, and tomorrow $250 bucks goes to Kerry. I'm sure I'll double that by the GE. It's all about defeating the evil empire, though y'all have had an impact on me with regards to the party's responsiveness (or lack thereof) to it's grass roots.

11. As a leftist, your feedback is as valuable, if not more, than your $
If Kerry does something you emphatically disagree/agree with, let his campaign know with faxes, calls and letters. DU can be a valuable source of feedback.

13. I'm gonna be a Kerry pioneer....
Edited on Wed Mar-03-04 04:23 AM by silver state d
Dem style I've already got my mother and grand father to pledge a 100 each to the dem nominee now i ll move on to my friends pushing fer that 25-100 donation. Trust me folks every dollar matters. Tell your friends!!! i was surprised how many folks think a couple of bucks don't matter but a little sweet talk/arm twisting gets those check books out the internet makes it all to fricken simple you can get em drunk and then donate on the spot. Remember 2 million people @ 100 bucks a pop is a whole heap o' cash!!!

PS thanks to dean and Edwards and all the d candidates for a great primary now lets kick the fuckers out.
