Obama - Freeper Panic Grows
I was watching Obama speak in SC after his win tonight. I turned to my wife and said, “This guy is scaring me.”

Can you imagine ancient, fumbling McCain with his carved up face and white hair and his poor performances in debates when he’s put under pressure going up against Obama with his message of change and youth and vigor?

Exactly. Now tell me he couldn't successfully run to Romney or Rudy's right in the general election and win a bunch of southern states.

Hillary, we can beat, Obama, he will be VERY hard to beat. Not because of Obama, but what the media will/has created out of him. He’s a damn good speaker. We don’t have one of those right now.

Obama is slick--with a Democrat controlled Congress, he will be able to get just about anything he wants passed, with little opposition. All he needs to do is give one of his vacuous, rhetoric-filled, "inspiring" speeches. On the other hand, Hillary will be challenged at EVERYTHING she does, by not only the Republicans, but many in her own party who despise her. I think she would be a very ineffective president because of who she is.

He is far more dangerous than Hillary IMHO.

and finally: I would vote for him... Certainly, I will not vote for mitt or huckabee.

I don't believe these comments are purely motivated by hatred of HRC

3. I can't post freeper links under DU rules
It's mainly from -Obama Trounces Hillary, Slams Her In Speech. you will notice I've deleted references to Hitler. The number of Obama threads seems to have tripled in a few hours.

5. Interesting responses. What does this mean?
I will be doing my part. In the California primary, as a Decline to State, I am not permitted to vote in the R primary, but I can in the D.

I will take a deep breath, and whatever medication I can to keep me from puking, and vote in the D...for Obama.

Other than the HillHate -- what is "Decline to State" and why can't this person vote in the primary they choose?

8. Maybe he means
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 06:24 PM by creeksneakers2
that when he filled out his voter registration form he got to the part where it asks for the registrant to choose a party and he checked a box that said "decline to state."

Its up to the parties in each state to choose whether they'll allow independents or voters of other parties to participate in their primaries. I guess where this guy is the Republicans don't allow anybody but registered Republicans but the Democrats open it up to anybody.

2. "He is...dangerous."
Yeah, I'm starting to get that sense about him too. Maybe he CAN do it; maybe he's tough enough. I'm still with Hillary till Super Tues, at the very least, but Obama is looking like a more and more appealing "second choice" with every day that goes by.

Keep it up, O-man.

And in the meantime, go Hill!

6. Republican National Committee's web site has shifted its focus from Hillary to Obama
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 06:53 PM by bob_weaver
Two or three months ago, all they ever mentioned was Hillary, Hillary, Hillary. Now there is but one mention of her name on their main page, and lots of Obama. By this they seem to be indicating that they believe Obama will be the nominee.

14. I was reading a FR thread cross referenced at KOS regarding Obama's victory speech
Edited on Sun Jan-27-08 06:48 PM by ariesgem
Here's a few of the comments -

He has the power to persuade and inspire. I wish he were a conservative.

-------------------------------

If a Republican had given that speech (and in terms of content with one or two exception a Republican could have) that person would have FReepers swooning.

There seems to be some serious dissonance at FR regarding the desire to see Hillary defeated and the debate between whether an Obama is a Hillary would be easier to defeat in a general election.

Given the Democratic turnout compared to the Republican turnout in all of the primaries to date, there is an awful big likelihood that we are not going to have a Pubbie in the White House. Perhaps things will change, but I am not holding my breath.

The ultimate question is who is more acceptable.

In terms of pure inspiration and an end to dynasty, Osama is perhaps the better choice. If one really, truly cares about policy though, the pure reality is that Hillary is a lot less liberal than Obama. Certainly more evil, but less liberal. Moreover, the GOP would gain more traction opposing the policies of a President Clinton than a President Obama.

On the other hand, that would also mean more of the same.

Do I seem confused?

----------------------------

No offense intended, but the folks who fail to see that Obama is an extraordinary, compelling figure are guilty of willful ignorance. I agree with the poster who said that were he one of us, we would be in heaven about now. I’d love to see him finish off the Clintons, but we’d have a tougher time with him by far.

----------------------------

Obama would eat McCain for lunch.

I hate her but I hope Hitlery has some good dirt on Obama.
WE would crush Hitlery I’m not so sure about Obama. It’s tough to fight a dream.

----------------------------

There’s very little I agree with Obama about, but anyone who denies that he is BY FAR the most talented public speaking politician in America today is deluding himself.

I was watching his speech tonight and having to tell myself “he supports amnesty, he wants to raise your taxes, he wants to make government bigger” because if I didn’t my instinct would have been to get carried away by his speech. He is extremely good at what he does.

Having said that, Hillary is a better politician because she lives in the real world and cynically manipulates the political levers in a way that doesn’t inspire at all but which works. And that’s sad to see.

----------------------------

Agreed. He apeaking style is extraordinarily compelling, particularly when compared to Hillary Clinton’s. I do believe he’s got her beat and he may have us beat! I don’t think there is one of our candidates who can best him in presentation. Unfortunately we have a large group in this country to whom presentation is everything. If one of our candidates doesn’t catch fire, and I really don’t see anyone even stoking an ember, we’re goning have our first black President, it’s just too bad he’s a Dim, when we could have had someone like J C Watts had the RNC had two brain cells to rub together! I just wonder who his Vice will be, surely he wouldn’t let Hillary within a country mile of the White House.

----------------------------

I think your hope will be fulfilled. Before tonight I was certain the Machine would negate actual votes in the bizarre nominating process that is present in the Dem Party. After watching Obama's speech, followed by Clintons (Both of them) typical whinny and oblivious speeches, I am changing my mind.

I think this guy can actually beat her and, if he does, and if he’s facing an anachronism like McCain, he could win it all.

:wow:

Of course there were the usual "Obama is an empty suit" comments but I think the freepers are truly:scared::scared::scared: of Obama.

24. Good, but,
I fail to understand their name calling Hill 'Hitlery'. I know it's not new, but it is still stupid.

She is a smart capable American, nothing related to Hitler in the remotest sense. Are they just impaired in some way?

Anyway, I did enjoy reading their comments. And I don't have to hose off, so thanks for that.

Wow.

"The problem with Shrillary getting the nomination is that if the GOP candidate is weak or stumbles badly, our nation as we know it is in real jeopardy. I would rather have an Obama presidency than to chance that happening."
