109. Yep, completely calculating... knowing it will get coverage in the FL news media ...
... subtly skirting the "no campaigning" pledge. Couldn't she have waited until after the FL primary to make the request? Had she made a similar request before Michigan's primary? Or is it that she now realizes she may be in a real fight for the nomination, and is now scraping for every possible delegate?

112. Hil: "We now turn our attention to the millions of Americans who will make their voices heard in FL"
Edited on Mon Jan-28-08 07:48 AM by flpoljunkie
(This is a blatant attempt to curry favor with the voters of Florida, who are already voting early and will head to the polls on Tuesday--it's called campaigning by any definition of the word! Pure Clintonian!)

In a Saturday statement, Clinton said “We now turn our attention to the millions of Americans who will make their voices heard in Florida" followed by states that vote February 5. In a Sunday morning press conference, she repeated that her focus had shifted to Florida.

"I intend to be in Florida Tuesday night," she told reporters in Nashville, Tennessee. "The votes of the people of Florida and of course Michigan really matter to me. I am running to the president of our entire country."

an empty suit and if all you can say the reason you support obama is because he gives one hell of a speech and know nothing about his postions other then what you might hear in the debates or go read something on his website, then may I suggest you stay as far away from a voting booth as you can......cause the last time uniformed voters did this we got george bush and the more one listens to obama especially in the debates he does at times come across as so uninformed he sounds like bush......

oh i know i am rude but damn folks we are in serious times and we do not need a revival preacher to lead this country. We got serious problems and we need serious people to get us out of this morass this country is in and hrc is the person that can do it for us. Let hrc get all this mess straightened out and then obama can come in after all the work has been done and lead us in a verse or two of It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood......

28. Do you work up that Obama hatred or does it just come naturally?
Whichever, it is really in the gutter. If an Obama or Edwards supporter talked about Hillary the way you talk about
Obama, you would be livid. So give up the nastiness and focus about what you like about your candidate.

It is not going to matter to me. You have worn out my patience. On ignore with you.

Florida will award zero delegates in it's "beauty contest." The Florida Democratic party colluded with the Republicans in our Legislature and brought us to this place. They are the ones to blame.

That said, of course I voted, and voted early for Barack Obama!

22. No, it's just that hypocracy gets me
Politics is a blood sport and it is played hard, but Hillary Clinton has played within the rules regarding Florida. Every campaign tries to maximize all legal advantages unless they think doing so will hurt them politically. Obama is the one who is openly campaigning in Florida through his TV ads, which violated his pledge. He has his excuses but that is what they are, excuses. The facts are still the facts.

27. In all fairness...
...she is fundraising in the state. Per the agreement, the candidates are allowed to fund raise.

With that said, how can anyone suggest that the Fla delegates be allowed to count, when the Dem
candidates have all agreed not to campaign there?

One person will NOT decide to change the rules midstream---because that would not be democratic
or fair. That would be cheating.

Hillary was part of the initial agreement regarding all of this. She alone cannot change the
rules.

I cannot even fathom what would happen to our party if she even attempts this. Obama and
Edwards would not stand idly by.

I'll reserve full judgment until we are actually given signs that Hillary intends to
blatantly cheat and behave this way.

I'm going to assume for now--that we're hearing rumors and that Fla and MI won't count.
I feel bad for the voters of MI and FL and I am sorry that this happened to them.

53. You Get It! Thanks!
Thank you for recognizing the horrible dilemma at hand. At least, I think you do.

Yes, it is wrong to change the rules midstream. Yes, it's like cheating. The Florida Democratic leadership should not have worked with Republicans in the legislature to change the primary date (to 1/29) after the Florida Democratic Party had already agreed to follow the rules which said no other primaries (except Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina) before 2/5. In Michigan, it was a Democratic legislature and governor.

thank you for also having a little sympathy for us voters, who have gotten screwed.

I'm trying to get over my anger at the entities involved. I hope something is worked out so this doesn't screw the Democrats chances in November.

they shouldn't have to suffer because their leadership couldn't
get it together.

33. For every vote she gets with these tricks, she will lose two.
Voters are watching these Clinton tricks, Democratic voters. They do not like the Clinton's gaming the
system.

Florida is a really sensitive place for most Dems. We want our candidates to play by the rules.
Not cheat their way to power like Bush did. So keep it up Hillary it may cost you the nomination.

55. 1. Pledging not to campaign in Florida
2. Accusing Obama of campaigning in Florida,

3. Breaking her pledge and going to Florida today.

4. Planning to use her uncontested "win" in Florida on Tuesday as the antidote to Obama's SC win.

5. Planning to attempt to seat the Florida and Michigan delegates when all candidates agreed to
the DNC's position to not seat them.

Only Hillary supporters would miss the dirty tricks in her behaviors. Actually I would argue that I used tricks as an euphemism.
There are far worse descriptions for these unfair behaviors. But then I hate being inflammatory. It just gets you guys so riled up.

1. She's not campaigning in Florida, so check that off your list.
2. Obama IS running ads in Florida. Check two.
3. She's breaking no pledge by going to Florida. Check three.
4. Pure speculation and spin. Check.
5. There's no trick in asking to enfranchise voters. Check and mate.

60. I will say something nice about her that will still get me flamed...
but she has the best haircut evah! Someone will post that this is somehow a slam against her, but that's because they don't realize how a good cut (instead of the chopping most people get for $15) can really enhance a person's looks. I swear, Jennifer Aniston has always gotten attention for having the greatest haircuts - but this cut on Hillary is absolutely the best! It's very flattering on her.

Go John!

77. FL lost its delegates 214 I think
because they moved their primary up to 1/29 instead of 2/5

That is why it is being called a "beauty contest"

However, unlike Michigan (where 45% of the voters turned out in bad weather (snow, forget how much) to vote against Hillary by voting uncommitted)
All three candidates names are on the ballot in Florida

Why doesn't she wear a skirt once in a while?? She needs to show she's proud of herself as a woman...she's wearing pants in every picture I have seen of her campaigning or in debates(notice I said, in every picture I've seen)...Perhaps there's a subliminal message, that she's trying to get across?..wb

104. Most prof. women wear pantsuits a lot these days. Laura Bush almost always wears pants.
Nothing at all wrong with that. It is totally professional, as well as looking chic and sophisticated. Besides, it's practical. Do you really want a skirt on walking down airplane stairs?

Final note...just to say....it is also true that both Clinton and Laura Bush have fairly unattractive legs, so that could be part of it. Nothing wrong with that. Everyone has a less attractive part of his or her body. With Hillary, it is her legs. They are somewhat chunky and shapeless with thick ankles. Same thing with Laura Bush.

are too short for her figure and her pants are usually too tight.

I think being the Senator from New York has probably given Hillary access to some very savvy fashion consultants.

Obama: the golden child, the anointed one who is devoid of fault.

Hillary: evil woman who wants to take away Obama's chance of becoming our nominee. A nomination that he's entitled to due to his great experience and wisdom demonstrated in the national arena.

Please...........
