ABC NEWS: Ted Kennedy to Endorse Obama
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/01/ted-kennedy-to.html

BC News' Rick Klein Reports: Senator Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., will endorse Barack Obama's presidential bid on Monday in Washington, a source close to Kennedy tells ABC News.

The endorsement gives Obama a boost in the eyes of the Washington establishment, and comes after some prominent Democrats criticized Senator Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and former president Bill Clinton for their campaign tactics before Obama's landslide victory in South Carolina.

Given his familiarity with Skinner, certain posters, the rules, the jargon, etc...I'm guessing that was neither his first nor his last handle.

25. The "Billary" bs started here just recently. You know it as well as I do.
I don't care, really. Just making an observation on how many here who push empty rhetoric ilke "hope" and "change" routinely throw out some of the most viscious slurs we've seen to date. You can spin that all you like, but don't lie to yourself.

27. Yeah, but realistically so did Bill Clinton's visible involvement in this campaign.
Clinton-hatred among the far left is suicidal, but is not a new phenomenon. The Clintons are uniquely polarizing--either you love them or you despise them. If you're too far to the left or the right to love them, you despise them.

49. But it is them that are running the 2-for-1 campaign again.
Why would "Billary" be considered a negative in that light?

I am not being a snark -- I am asking seriously.

I watched Bill's speech in Independence MO last night and it was all about him and his record, and when he wasn't referring to himself, it was all "we" and "us".

Not a problem for me -- I think it is just pointing out the obvious.

23. Not necessarily
But now with both Senators, and the governor (with both Kerry and Patrick actively campaigning for Obama) backing him it will definitely help. In this area (Greater Boston), Obama is extremely popular (based on bumper stickers and signs, and people I've spoken to). I don't know about the rest of the state.

18. Al Gore could be far behind. He could stay out of it entirely and I think he should
until there is a candidate who presents the extremely BOLD proposals needed to address climate change -- we have 5-7 years before the North Polar ice cap is complete GONE during the summer. The lack of that sun-ray reflecting cap at the North Pole will produce devastating effects world wide.

Good for Ted. This will make a difference. Maybe Ted can even change some of the superdelegates to vote for Obama.

The Kennedys must be ticked off at the Clintons for destroying the party.

Ted Kennedy endorsing Obama

Posted by James F. Smith January 27, 2008 12:29 PM

By Susan Milligan
Globe staff

WASHINGTON -- Senator Edward M. Kennedy will endorse Barack Obama for president tomorrow, breaking his year-long neutrality to send a powerful signal of where the legendary Massachusetts Democrat sees the party going -- and who he thinks is best to lead it.

Kennedy confidantes told the Globe today that the Bay State's senior senator will appear with Obama and Kennedy's niece, Caroline Kennedy, at a morning rally at American University in Washington tomorrow to announce his support.

That will be a potentially significant boost for Obama as he heads into a series of critical primaries on Super Tuesday, Feb. 5.

Kennedy believes Obama can ``transcend race'' and bring unity to the country, a Kennedy associate told the Globe. Kennedy was also impressed by Obama's deep involvement last year in the bipartisan effort to craft legislation on immigration reform, a politically touchy subject the other presidential candidates avoided, the associate said.

The coveted endorsement is a huge blow to New York Senator Hillary Clinton, who is both a senatorial colleague and a friend of the Kennedy family. In a campaign where Clinton has trumpeted her experience over Obama's call for hope and change, the endorsement by one of the most experienced and respected Democrats in the Senate is a particularly dramatic coup for Obama.
