It might be better to pick the VP soon so the democrats will have two voices to fight against the $150 million Bush advertising onslaught.

1. Later.
Things can change between now and July. Kerry has time to choose if he wants Clark or Edwards or whatever he thinks may help him. If Florida is very close, for instance, he may pick Nelson or Graham.

3. Later. Foreplay, baby.
As much as I'd love for him to pick Edwards tonight - Kerry's got to let this play out, let the suspense build, and see what we really need for November. I'm hoping it's JRE, but Kerry's got to take it slow and easy.

2. There's no rush
Hell, why not have ALL the possible VP's out there fighting Bush? See who's best at it.

Generally, the VP selection is made MUCH closer to the convention. But I suspect it will done earlier this year than usual.

7. I like that....
Highest points to the potential VP candidate who swings hardest at Bush.

5. Later: here's why:
This is the one media event that Kerry has a very distinct advantage over Bush with. Kerry can play the tension/whoisit/pundit prediction card for months now. Bush is (supposedly) stuck with Dick. Keeping 'em guessing keeps his name in the news, and with mostly positive coverage.

8. The suspense is important!!
He won't pick anyone yet.

The suspense keeps people talking, & it's good for the party.

9. My bet for his VP is.......

Probably retiring Senator John Breaux of LA.... That state, remains hopeful for democrats with the very charming Mary Landrieu retaining her seat, and also winning the Governorship.

Graham and Edwards are fine also. Breaux however, could deliver LA and he is appealing enough to play well all over. With the right VP, we could win Ohio.

long shot: Chuck Robb of VA,
