...had it not been vital for my man Obama to get South Carolina by a huge margin. It's pretty embarassing to come in third in your home state, and it would never have happened if they hadn't moved everything up earlier than usual.

He's always been my second favorite candidate...I hope he wins at least a few states on Super Tuesday...

ON EDIT--No sarcasm smiley necessary. I meant every word I said.

1. He hasn't come in third yet. But yeah it's likely he will.

2. He needed to win here
To force the media to presenting his message. At least he's still hangin in there despite the virtual blackout of what he has to say. But if Bill keeps wagging his "I'm not a racist, however..." flag, who knows?

4. Born in SC, represented NC
so I guess it could be both.

After all, Dubya's daddy has like five home states, why can't our folks have two?

10. I would consider NC his home state... as for the Clinton(s)
Arkansas, Illinois, New York? who knows.

6. Yes, it's pretty bad that he couldn't even carry his birth state.

12. why should I vote for someone based on where they were born?
I don't get it. Where they were elected to office before, or spent most of their life, I might get, but why is birth state relevant??

24. Yes, but...
just 18% of the vote overall and only 2% of the African American vote?

25. I'm not saying he did well... I just don't get the state stuff
esp. birth state. And people talking about balancing tickets (for VP) based on states like it's 1850 or something.

I think if anything this shows that people were not voting based on who was born closest to their birthplace.

7. Yeah sure, he is your second favorite. We Edwards supporters don't need your pity.
:eyes: What is embarrassing is that so many can be taken in by Obama.

I hope he wins at least a few states on Super Tuesday... What crap! :eyes:

19. Boy, I hate it when people just assume that you personally hate their candidate...
...just as much as they obviously hate yours.

You know what, I meant every word I said. And what more did you want me to say--I'm glad he lost?

You can take your poor-losership and go straight to hell.

8. He won the white vote. He never had a shot to win SC because of Obama and Hill's strength with black
Only the media spun it as a must win. How the fuck do you win when you are at 1% with half the voters? He was never higher than 7% with blacks. He did win the white vote. If he does well among whites on Super Tuesday he will do well overall.

9. It's gotta be a hard night for John Edwards...
He's been campaigning all these years partly to honor his son's memory, since it was Wade who inspired him to go into public service ~ but, as much as I think he'd fight hardest on behalf of the people, maybe it's time for him to find another way to serve.

13. HIs home state is North Carolina.

He was born in SC but he grew up in Robbins, NC, went to NC State, was an NC senator, and currently lives in NC.
