Why have the EXIT POLLS suddenly become the "holy grail"???
Did I live in an alternate universe in 2004 or did the MSM shove the "unreliable" mantra re: exit polls down our throats? What the hell has changed? I thought we weren't supposed to TRUST the results from exit polls. Does anyone else remember or am I the only one? These assholes are changing the rules of the game again. Ugh.....

They say it so it must be so.

1. They are excited. This win was expected and need. Let them enjoy it. I'm happy
for the Obama camp and the SC voters.

5. I don't want to dampen the "excitement"...
I just want to know why SUDDENLY they keep cramming the "exit polls are the holy grail" mantra down our throats when they did everything in their power to discredit them in 2004. I think it's a valid question. Seriously. Don't you?

7. Because they were in collusion with Bush, not the Democrats.

2. I have no idea in hell, fooj. The Holy Grail is not in their hands. I -- that is
your friendly DU correspondent -- I -- have the Holy Grail. THE Holy Grail.

We keep it out in the mudroom over the dryer next to the bleach and the fabric softener.

3. Wondering the same thing
For some reason, this year the exit polls are suddenly "reliable" again?

4. it's the only information they have.
it is scientific... in that it's random.

They're not accurate enough to predict races unless there is a huge margin.

But they are accurate about race, age, and other important demographic information that helps everyone understand the results.

6. Because George Bush is not running.
Exit polls are ONLY unreliable in a Bush election.

9. Exit polls are unreliable when Karl Rove is involved in the race. Don't
you remember it was the Republican "Reluctant Responder" who confused the 2004 exit polls.
