Will Obama make Edwards his Attorney General? This report in from Robert Novak.

I'm not so certain about this source, but I thought I'd throw it out there and see what you guys think of it.

I'd always thought of it going Edwards/Obama or Obama/Edwards, with Edwards or Obama as VP.
Still, when I consider it, Edwards would have more power as our attorney general than he would as our vice president.

What are your thoughts on the matter?

Obviously a ploy to convince SC Edwards supporters to vote for Obama and not "waste" their votes on Edwards.

That rumor and $2 can get you on the NYC Subway

But that rumor may also steal Obama some timely votes now, by helping wean some Edwards supporters away from voting for Edwards in the remaining primaries in favor of Obama instead. Rumors are as cheap as air and just as substantitive.

Obama will not be accused of violating a rumor if he becomes our nominee and this does not come to pass.

Yeah, I guess that he's not a credible source.

Too bad, I'd love to see Edwards as a part of Obama's team. Who wouldn't?

And I would have to agree that if Edwards were not President, that he would be much more effective as AG than Vice President. But only with a President that would approve of what he was doing. Which is why it's better to have Edwards as President in the first place. I'm sure John can think of a qualified AG who can take on the corporatists.

Novak has done this sort of thing before...speculate, citing anonymous sources, about something scary the Dems are supposedly planning.

And of course, the big corporations and all their interests WOULD be frightened at the thought of John Edwards as AG. Not ony has he taken them on as an attorney, but has promised to do so as president. He could do the same as AG.

EDIT: and like others, I recognize the ruse of trying to derail the Edwards train. Take ya horse-puckey somewhere else. It's far too soon for Mr. Himself (Obama) to be making such plans or ASSumptions.

Obama and Clinton: the two of them just keep racking up the reasons for me to write in Edwards and not support either of them. That's right where I'm headed.
