Leading Democrats to Bill Clinton: Pipe Down
http://www.newsweek.com/id/96385

Prominent Democrats are upset with the aggressive role that Bill Clinton is playing in the 2008 campaign, a role they believe is inappropriate for a former president and the titular head of the Democratic Party. In recent weeks, Sen. Edward Kennedy and Rep. Rahm Emanuel, both currently neutral in the Democratic contest, have told their old friend heatedly on the phone that he needs to change his tone and stop attacking Sen. Barack Obama, according to two sources familiar with the conversations who asked for anonymity because of their sensitive nature. Clinton, Kennedy and Emanuel all declined to comment.

On balance, aides to both Bill and Hillary still see Bill as a huge net plus in fund-raising, attracting large crowds and providing a megaphone to raise doubts about Obama—even if some of those doubts are distortions. But there's concern that in hatcheting the Illinois senator and losing his temper with the news media (last week he thrashed a San Francisco TV reporter for asking about a lawsuit filed by Clinton-backing teachers union members to limit the number of Nevada caucuses), Clinton is drawing down his political capital and harming his role as a global statesman. "This is excruciating," says a member of the Clintons' circle, who asked for anonymity. "But the stakes couldn't be higher. It's worth it to tarnish himself a bit now to win the presidency."

1. The Clintons know what they are doing
In 2000 we asked the Clintons to please stay out of it and we lost. In 2004 we asked the Clintons to stay out of it and we lost. 2008 I say let it ride and let the Clintons speak. I know we want to "Move-On" and I know we want "Change" but we can't move forward until we resolve what took place in 2000 up until today. In the past I voted for people like Kucinich because I wanted change and real democratic party policies. Now in a world where it seems the powers that be stole the future I just want the Clintons to ride into the white house and do to them what they did to us for eight years. Obama seems like he'll have great experience and success at running and winning the office of the President, in 8 to 16 years. For now I'm rolling up my sleeves and backing HRC. I expect the Clintons to not only fight back against the Repubs but to end this, and I hate to use this term, but it is what it is, end this storyline once and for all.

Though if I had my wish I would have been granted a one way ticket to the universe where Al Gore was president for the 2000's. Those lucky bastards living in the universe next door.

2. The Clintons not only covered up for Bush Sr. but laid foundations for Bush Jr.
Bill had eight years to do something about Bush Sr. He didn't. If his judgment was that Bush Sr. did not need investigating, then that's not the judgment I want representing my country.

Hillary helped hand Bush a blank check for war then claimed that Bush fooled her into it. If her judgment was that Bush Jr. was a stand up guy and wouldn't really use the power they voted to give him, then that's not the judgment I was representing my country.

Bush-Clinton-Bush-?

Three wrongs do not make it Hillary's turn.

4. The Clintons Are True To Oue Side
I know the arguement well enough to talk all day and night, and again, in the past I voted for candidates very un-Clinton, but here we are and I only see the Clintons getting us out of this ditch. I also return to my other point of for two elections we told the Clintons to stand down and we lost. I see no reason to change the election strategy and let Bill talk all he wants.

7. So obviously you agree with their win at all costs philosophy.
When the cost is democracy, the price is too high.

"The citizen who sees his society's democratic clothes being worn out and does not cry out is not a patriot but a traitor."

really? you think supporting the Clintons is at the cost of democracy? You think allowing Bill Clinton to speak this election after being told for the last two election to "Pipe Down" is at the cost of democracy? Really? C'mon?
