Sad but true. There is a reason she is the front runner, that reason being the apathy, gullibility, and stupidity of the American people.

1. So, yea, where's the permanent Republican Mega-Majority?
I'm not so sure how well 'Rovian' tactics even worked... (whatever that means)

2. mmhmm
Hillary appeals to the stupid people, thats why she is leading in the polls. Not many smart people on her side can see through the bullshit that some of us have come to realize. Its sad really. We were calling republicans stupid for not seeing through Bush in 2004, and the democrats are behaving the same way now. So it just shows me theres an awful lot of stupid people on both sides.

4. Mathematically speaking
There are a lot more stupid people in the world than smart people. Even in the simplest terms, 50% of the population have an IQ that is "below average".

6. Insults, wonderful. The stupid people who elected her to the Senate twice?
Wow. How do you hope to win people to your candidate instead, with bratty nonsense like this?

Care to actually talk about reality, instead of spewing ridicule and making yourself look silly?

3. Wow. Angry much?
Have some cereal, lie down, it works...

What Rovian tactics are you talking about? She is the frontrunner because, unlike you, the American people think she has a good record in the Senate and would be a strong national leader. They don't seem to be filled with your cranky stereotypes. And I'm sure they don't think of themselves as stupid.

Nice of you to insult pretty much everybody, including the very ones whose votes you hope to get.

When did all the Democrats turn into Young Republicans? If anyone sounds like Rove, it's you.

7. Eating as a sedative???
That's not good... that's a very, very bad choice!

Talking a walk is a much better idea.

14. "What Rovian tactics are you talking about?"
Clinton's campaign manager, Patti Solis Doyle, seems to agree with that assessment, having effectively vowed to run her operation much as Rove did his two successful national campaigns. "She expresses admiration for the way George W. Bush's campaign team controlled its message, and, given her druthers, would run this race no differently

Lets be honest now ...they are lying and swift boating in the same way Rove would.

17. Uh... ahem... you do know that Hillary once was...
... the president of the Young Republicans at Wellesley as a freshman, dontcha? (Check the Wiki entry if you doubt that)

Also, both her and Bill have praised Rove's political skills.

-snip

The Clintons recognize the skill Rove has brought to politics and admire his craft, if not his ideology. Just days after the November 2004 election, Bill Clinton pulled Rove aside at the dedication of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Arkansas. "Hey, you did a marvelous job, it was just marvelous what you did," Clinton told Rove, according to the book "The Way to Win: Taking the White House in 2008," by John F. Harris and Mark Halperin. "I want to get you down to the library. I want to talk politics with you. You just did an incredible job, and I'd like to really get together with you and I think we could have a great conversation."

5. Before there was Rove...
... there was Lee Atwater, there was (and is) Ed Rollins, there was Chuck Colson, there was Dick Tuck....

I remember hearing Claude Pepper talk about what they used to do back in thw 20s and 30s. There's nothing new here. I just wish Hillary would bring back the whole buying-votes-with-liquor thing :toast:

So you want people to get drunk and vote?

Really good. It's so nice to see people raising the level of discussion on DU and coming up with mature ideas. :sarcasm:

Nothing new at all.

With one possible exception... Edwards sitting back and laughing at all the hair pulling, whining, foot stomping, and crying.

Welcome to DU, OmahaBlueDog!

18. Thank you!
It is a lively discussion here. I spent a lot of time on democrats.com and darn near died of boredom. However, I hope we have some energy left for the fall -- we're going to need it!

I love the River City area, but I do wish they could move the political discussion a few notches to the left.

20. I hear that!
I have two really great friends in Iowa who are Democrats... one is a former US presidential candidate, and the other is an Iowa delegate! They are pretty far left, but not enough to make that balance I guess.

10. Like Sauron's Ring, Rovian tactics have but one ultimate benefactor. The RoveRing must be destroyed.

Democrats cannot win with Republican tactics - we will only implode.

things against our own makes us all look bad. I'm kind of a purist.
