I've alway thought that the Candidates should name their AG and Secretary of State early

I've alway thought that the Candidates should name their AG and Secretary of State early
While it does give the oposotion more targets to shoot at. It also sends a strong signal on the typ of adminsitration and policies the candidates are going to pursue.

Most of the rest of the Cabinet including DOD are mor operational then policy driven. oo many tragets is obviously unwise.

1. More targets spread out the fire. I think it's a good idea too.
It's much easier to take on one person or even two on a ticket. A team is good.

lest the other person wins and they don't a job in the new administration.

you don't really know who the pool of candidates is until after the election.

Recently-defeated congresspeople are often chosen.

5. Typically you would want to waitn until you vanquish your Primary opponents.
Plus it is also quite reare that you tap someone from congress to beyour primary policy advisors.
