So, why the silence on Carol Mosely Braun?

I mean, she accepted 10K from THE SLUMLORD, right? Should SHE be called some of the names HRC was called for being in a photo op with THE SLUMLORD at Mosely-Braun's fundraiser?

Personally, I REALLY, REALLY like her alot, and wish she could have either won the nom last time or been picked as Kerry's running mate. I think she's a terrific woman who I wished would go much higher up in US politics. I would have voted for her in a second.

I don't think it's appalling that she accepted money from "The Slumlord." What I DO find appalling is that she is being used to make some kind of political point.

This has now officially went very much over the line.

And, shame on anyone who smears Mosely-Braun to make a point. She has nothing to do with this.

I don't have any details - other than I do like Mosely Braun.

Every time someone wonders why the Dems in Congress back down, part of me wonders if somewhere amongst all the paperwork that makes up the accounting system of a campaign, there are pieces of paper that link this Democrat here and that Democrat there to a corrupt campaign contribuor.

It is probably nigh onto impossible to know the purity of each and every campaign contributor.

Yet still these are the sort of things that make blackmail easy for the republicans - giving them a chance to yank the strings of any Dem who has ever run for office.

And, since Mosely-Braun isn't running for anything, I'm not judging her on the donation. I'm sure it may come up in the future, which is a shame, because I do think she's a sincere person.
