1. Barack Obama
What can I say, he just doesn't do it for me. No money from me if he is the nominee. Hillary I would donate to. Edwards has come back to my good graces as well.

So anyone voting in this poll
will sit back and let the republican nominee grab the white house?

I WILL ACTIVELY AND WITH GUSTO SUPPORT WHOMEVER THE DEMS NOMINATE. PLEASE JOIN ME. Consider the alternative.

6. What BOSSHOG said!
I agree completely. How anyone who's ever complained about Bush and Cheney can consider anything else is beyond me. The thought of giving Repukes the chance to forever alter the Supreme Court into a right-wing echo chamber gives me the heebie-jeebies.

10. not that far
The question is "actively support", I'm assuming that means working for the candidate or donating money.

I'm pretty sure most Duers will vote for the Dem candidate, no matter who it is.

24. I'll vote for my least favorite if she is the nominee
But I'd feel kind of hypocritical trying to enthusiastically promote her to others, unless it was in the context of just keeping the rethugs out of the WH.

Hillary is a liberal. Her voting record is 90% liberal. She will pick liberal judges. She will push liberal policies.

You want a liberal in the White House? Voting for anyone other than the Democratic nominee will get you nothing but a REPUBLICAN in the White House. Is that what you want? I don't think so.

48. I guess it all depends what you definition of a liberal is…
If Hillary is a liberal what’s that make the corporations that are strangling the US to death, and financing her campaign to the hilt?

And what’s that make Kucinich?

34. Obviously the M$M will ensure the next person in the White House is
a corporately owned Conservative. So be happy - you are guaranteed that at the least half of your perilous fate will come true…

But as for myself, I for one am not fooled by the D or the R and I will never ever vote for a conservative. I understand the fate of that folly...

I haven't been fooled by the D or the R either in the past 30 years. Show me the ideal liberal who can get elected president, whom we all can agree on and I will buy stock in such a person.

46. No liberal is electable in this corporately owned pretend democracy.
That is one of the main functions of the corporately owned conservative biased M$M, to ensure the vast majority has all the misinformation and propaganda that they need to know before they cast their vote – this ensures a conservative puppet will be in the White House and the preservation of the fascist economic royals.

To ask someone to vote for one of these conservative candidates is like asking them to vote between executioners, and no healers are allowed – don’t you know the out come will be the same, and they wont be taking their orders from we the people.

I was fooled once 30 years ago, and I decided to find out why, and I can tell you one thing – I wasn’t fooled again, and this nightmare that is destroying our country now - was well established then – and any liberal that would have prevented it was weeded out then just as they are now...

47. Please share with me
You said you "wasn't fooled again." So what did you do? Who did you support? Who did you vote for? I'm not a candidate for national office but I do not believe I have been weeded out. Treat me like the dumb old country boy that I am and splain it to me. You are talking in riddles and I'm tiring of being polite. I do not ask for perfection. I ask for a D over an R for any office in any election.

15. Hillary Clinton will choke the life out of the party with her
cronies in charge, she doesn't support Clean Elections or raising the minimum wage again, and she refused to take the grassroots seriously enough to outright apologize for her Iraq War votes.

Obama has McClurkin, a healthcare plan with a big hole in it, and is running a campaign that doesn't hammer the Republican party hard enough, so he won't have a mandate to make the serious changes we need, if he did get elected.

13. Due to McClurkin
An Obama vote in the general would be a vote against the GOP, and I'd be sick about doing it. Kirbyjon Caldwell and the whole lot of bigots he panders with and to is just not acceptable. So active support? Not a chance unless he really changes his tune and his dance partners. He would have to renounce them and promise they will not be White House advisers. Caldwell is Bush's guy, McClurkin is Bush's guy. Sorry Obama, no dice.
Same for Clinton, I'll cast a vote, but not actively help. But I'd be less unhappy with Hillary than with the 700 Club defining families under our new health plan, you know? As long as Obama runs his campaign like Pat Robertson he will never have anything but opposition from me.

14. The McClurkin thing has stopped me dead in my tracks on support for Obama.
I just cannot get past that.

I was concerned about his attitude on impeachment prior to that, but I was trying to keep an open mind. He didn't feel that Bush/Cheney had committed any grave crimes. WTF?

What the hell is grave in Barack's book if lying to start a war against a sovereign nation isn't it?

And now there's Rezko...too many red caution flags waving around Obama, now.

I will hold my nose and vote for Hillary, but I will not vote for Barack UNTIL HE FIXES THIS MCCLURKIN ISSUE.

If all Americans are equal, Barack must get level with the gays.

I can't trust them. They voted for things like the Patriot Act and No Child Left Behind along with other noted rethug lite DLC cronies like Paul Wellstone, Ted Kennedy, and Patrick Leahy (only 2 Democrats were brave enough to vote against the latter and one against the former). Now they say they are against it. How can you trust such folks?

28. Pretty divisive for Obama as well
I think all those supporters are being very shortsighted. I understand the issues involved (GLBT and DLCer) but to hand the white house to another puke, to give them a shot at as many as three supreme court justices, they're cutting off their noses to spite their faces and all the issues they care about will only get worse under a puke administration. I wish they would all reconsider.

Her lack of core principles and her willingness to participate in Rovian politics and race-baiting is greatly disturbing. I like Obama but he is still not even close to Edwards level.

Edwards is by far our best candidate, and we should all hope that Democrats reject the Clintons dirty politics.
