Damn. It's a feeding frenzy in here.
I just don't even know where to bite. So I'll throw my own chum in here instead.

A few weeks ago, following the NH debate, I really thought we Democrats had it in the bag. I mean, really, look at the Repug candidates. Seriously? Are any really electable? They're a bunch of bozos!

But now, this war between Obama and Clinton is getting ridiculous. Now, I don't have cable or satellite, so maybe others can clue me in to how this is playing on teevee to the average voter. But, if it's anything like what I'm seeing here on DU, and my other on line sources, we may be in trouble come General Election time, no matter who the Democratic nominee is.

This NBC/WSJ poll shows that most voters plan on voting for a Democrat. For a long time, the sentiment has been that the Republicans are lost and have no chance of regaining their party momentum for some time. It was a shoe-in, folks. Now I'm not so sure.

1. "this war between Obama and Clinton is getting ridiculous"
Oh, it crossed that line weeks ago. Now its pure pettiness.

3. I think the SC voters, to start with, were turned off by the bickering at the debate,
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 12:48 PM by Seabiscuit
and are turning to Edwards.

And possibly, if not probably, at a far paster pace than the polls have been able to keep up with (the last one showed Edwards moving from 15% to 27% in the past 3 days).

4. any time two candidates bicker
the third (in this case Edwards) comes out smelling like a rose. Playing the referee always makes a candidate look good. If the other two don't shut the F up it's only going to hurt their chances.

6. On the Letterman show, Edwards joked: "I represented the adult wing of the Democratic party" at
the debates. And that's the way a lot of viewers perceived it all.

7. Fortunately for John no one is targeting him with attacks.
The Clinton camp throws a blow so Obama has to respond it kind and Edwards can just sit back and enjoy the circus.

10. True, but unlike Clinton & Obama, the MSM won't give him any coverage.
So he has to go on Letterman, Olbermann and Tyra Banks get TV coverage at all. To his credit, that's exactly what he did this week.

OTOH, there's precious little to attack Edwards about - his haircut? BWAHAHAHAHA.

When clicking on one of the 2 links in that OP, I discovered I have that person on "ignore" and can't read it.

24. LOL!
I hate to do this, but, for the sake of conversation, this is the topic that I was referring to that was originally posted on one of those threads I linked to:

Consider yourself forewarned -- it's a piece by Charles Krauthammer

28. It is pathetic, but, I had to wonder why Krauthammer took the time to write it
If this is all about Obama v. Clinton, as the MSM keeps telling the masses, why should Krauthammer even care about Edwards?

29. My guess would be...
Edited on Sat Jan-26-08 04:51 PM by Seabiscuit
that he's just another shill paid to slime Edwards, because people like him and the ones they work for are still very afraid of Edwards, because he just won't quit. Like a whack-a-mole, he just keeps popping back up in their faces no matter how many times they hit him. His continued presence irks the hell out of them in their quest to limit the contest to the two "historic" candidates who have the biggest Republican targets painted on their backsides. They know Edwards would rip any of the GOP candidates to shreds in any debate, and possibly win in a landslide - their worst nightmare scenario.

Meanwhile, today they're probably soiling their diapers at the prospect that Edwards just might *win* South Carolina.

8. I'm wondering too
I've said it on other threads, but just today, a co-worker of mine said he wanted to vote Democratic, but McCain was awfully attractive. We need to be ready to go after voters like this with facts about McCain (who I think will be the GOP nominee) and our nominee, and not waste our time with the spewing of garbage, which is what the Clinton-Obama feud has become.

to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It's what they do best. The martyr syndrome.

22. Beyond insulting Howard Dean, I can't make heads or tails of your post...
I supported Dean in 2003-2004 and now I support Edwards, after having spent the early part of 2007 supporting Kucinich.

I don't think the problem with the immature among the Obama supporters on DU is that they supported Dean back then. Dean and his supporters back then had principles they stuck with. The same can't be said about the disruptive Obamabots on DU.

17. I hope not Emit
it is disheartening to see what is going on with Clinton and Obama. Its trashy, petty and playing right into the repukes hands. The MSM will show them bickering over and over and that is what is going to register on voters minds and not what is truly at stake for our country.

What part of Nevada are you in? I'm in Vegas.

And I agree, judaspriestess :hi:

As much as I could stand it, I listened to Hannity in the car today (don't worry, it amounted to only a minute or two :puke:) and he was all over Bill Clinton and pushing something called the Stop Hillary Express. You're right -- it's being played right into the hands of the repukes.

Stayed there all day long. Beautiful. A bit ominous, I must admit, but, beautiful still.
