Bill Clinton is SO Divisive . . .
If Bill Clinton, and by extension Hillary, can alienate, and divide, DEMOCRATS during the nomination process, imagine how much they will ALIENATE and DIVIDE the general public during the general election cycle.

Democrats, with no disrespect to Hillary Clinton intended, we HONESTLY have to ask ourselves, do we WANT to re-hash "White Water" and "File Gate" and "Travel Gate" and Monica Lewinski and Jennifer Flowers, ad nauseum, for the next 8 years? Because you KNOW that the Republicans WILL!

15. Bill Clinton is still our only full two term Democratic President since FDR
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 12:03 PM by Tom Rinaldo
He still ended his Presidency more popular then he went into it. Hillary Clinton still got elected U.S. Senator two years later and won reelection 6 years after that with more popularity than she had when she first got elected.

Both Clintons withstood the full force of the Republican gamed (appointment of Ken Starr as special prosecutor) U.S. legal system without any indictments on any of the trumpted up charges of corruption leveled against them. Bill Clinton remains to this day widely popular around the world despite the domestic hatchet job attempted against him by his domestic enemies.

If this was the basis for making my final choice, I would much rather back Hillary Clinton for President who I know can handle this type of crap thrown against her than gamble on a relative unknown.

17. He may not be ON THE BALLOT . . .
but he is "running." And, yesterday, at the GOP Debate, all of their candidates are salivating at the prospect of running against "the Clintons."

Tim Russert even prefaced a question by saying . . . "It is clear that, if Hillary Clinton is the Democratic nominee, you will, in essence be running against both her, and former President Bill Clinton . . ."

If Hillary is the nominee, the GOP WILL make Bill Clinton, and his scandals, a center piece of their campaign, and, if she is elected, her term(s) in office will be WILL be constantly HOUNDED by the GOP, and their flunkies in the MSM, constantly wanting to re-hash the PAST.

That is REALITY.

I don't give a rats ass about the RW's authored history of the 90s, and I really don't give a rats ass about "democrats" who keep crying that the GOP will bring up the 90s.

16. Heven forbid we return to the 90's
Who would ever want to revive the days of competent judiciary appointments, no extremist ideologically-based wars, open discussions about the environment, no religious twinks running the FDA, etc...

Those days SUCKED.

Frankly, I feel bad for staying on the sidelines then. I want a chance to fight back Same battles if need be.
So far, life has been good to me. It gave me opportunities to act better in similar situations. this would be such an opportunity.

the republicans will be on the defense trying to explain all the wasted money in the past eight years. all the inability to provide for the public. one example is katrina clean up. another is the inability to provide durable goods or saftey during a crisis.
and their is many others to cover the headlines and keep the talk shows humming.
you see they no longer will control the media.nor will they set the agenda. and a few of them will be hiring lawyers to try and stay out of jail.

18. who's the repuke

apparently who ever is does not realize that BILL was re-elected during all the trash they threw at him. apparently a few in here do not realize that if Bill was running
obama would be so far off the screen the remark would be Obama who? Bill is the most
respected politician alive, maybe on the planet. the republicans hate to say it but if cornered they will admit it(even rush) he is most loved politician in either party.
recent polls proved that if he could run he would take the election hands down.
the divisiveness comes from those pocket politicians who are owned by big business
and are like puppets on a string.

Clinton seeks to smooth relations with Obama

http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSN2531553320080125

Fri Jan 25, 2008 11:25am EST

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Former President Bill Clinton said he might have gone too far in attacking Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton said on Friday, adding that both Democratic presidential campaigns should focus on issues.

"He said several times yesterday that maybe he got a little bit carried away," Hillary Clinton said on CBS' "Early Show."

I'm not even saying that you shouldn't support HRC, I am just pointing out what WE can expect.

Do you REALLY think the GOP is not going to go after Bill Clinton, 24/7 if Hillary is the nominee, and afterwards if she is President?

REALLY?

That's not "the messenger". Stop lying your trolling ass off.

But the answer is: The GOP is going to go after any Dem candidate 24/7. Better to have one who knows how to fight and defeat them.

Stupidest fucking question of the day.

26. The GOP went after Bill and Hillary 24/7 before - and Bill and Hillary always won
Anyone that thinks Edwards or Obama will be put on a widdle pedestal and treated with kid gloves by the GOP is truly delusional. Obama supporters crying over the big bad Bill, especially, are in for the shock of their lives if they do not realize this.

Just look at what they did to Gore.

Just look at what they did to Kerry.

Just look at what they did to Dukakis.

Bill hasn't even taken off the gloves yet.
