Worrying about Obama?

Worrying about Obama?

A Democratic media consultant in Boston, Dan Payne, worries on today's Boston Globe op-ed page about Barack Obama. He worries so much (really about nothing) that he has been looking for reasons to vote for Hillary Clinton.

Well, here's the reason with which Payne has come up:

Hillary is no angel. We know a lot about Hillary Clinton: Whitewater, filegate, cattle futures, the Chinese dishwashers who wrote checks for $500 and $2,000 to her campaign, the money from Ponzi schemer Norman Hsu, the $100,000 from a sleazy marketing operator in Nebraska, who paid her husband $2 million for unspecified 'consulting services.'

As a result, we know they can take a bullet. And new revelations won't shatter anyone's illusions about the Clintons.

Translated into real English: everybody knows that Bill and Hillary are truly dishonorable. There can be no surprises. Everything can be taken in stride. Hillary for president.

7. Why do so many people comment on my avatar?!? Really, Obama is going through the vetting...
...process. Simple. The supporters need to stop flaming Hillary, and making this an attack game, and actually figure out how to change their message.

13. Obama doesnt seem to handle the vetting process very well
and his supporters fare even worse. Given his over reaction to relatively minor criticism thus far, I fear for him in the General. At least Hillary can take it on the chin.

2. False translation.
We all know that Starr found nothing after a multimillion dollar witch-hunt.

6. i`ve read better bullshit here at du than that
the word must have sunk into both camps today because they pulled their radio attack ads. i think the "elders" in the party told the two to knock it off because it is giving the republicans thousands of talking points when it comes to the real election..maybe the two will grow up and notice the real enemy is`t each other but those guys with the big R on their foreheads.

the american people want real answers from real grown-ups not another VH1 reality show.

8. "Everybody knows that Bill and Hillary are truly dishonorable" -- NOT
How about spreading malicious gossip about other people? Like saying "everybody knows that Bill and Hillary are truly dishonorable" -- ? Is THAT honorable?

If the Clintons are such devils, prove it first. Even enough evidence to establish doubts. But you can't, because gossip isn't evidence. Guilt-by-association is bullshit. And it is actually possible to make and possess money legally.

Bill and Hil are politicians, the same as Barack Obama, John Edwards, JFK and FDR. Indeed, they are not angels. The idea that they have a special level of depravity is the result of a 25-year-long Big Lie campaign, one that a big chunk of the Left has fallen for.

I'm not worried about Obama at all. I'm worried about the level of ignorant hate in our own house. -- The jihad against the Clintons. The paranoia over the toothless dinosaur that is the DLC. Hatred of Democratic legislators that don't jump to our command, though most of us are too damn lazy to even call their offices and register our opinions. I'm worried about the laziness, the malice, the hipster one-upsmanship, the preening cynicism, and the self-righteous ego-tripping.

No, I am quite happy with Mr. Obama himself, even if I'm not a 100%er. Some of his followers, though, I am not impressed with; and some of Hillary's as well. But this week, Team Obama has been in overdrive.

So go ahead. Show us the Clintons' high crimes and treasons. I've been looking for over 15 years, and I have found nothing out of the usual range of political wheeling and dealing. St. Obama is well on his way to racking up a similar box score. And Bill got a blow job for which he was punished severely. Absurdly. Like something out of one of the Alice stories of Lewis Carroll.

Wanna change the system? The best way to do it is NOT to personalize the problem, find a scapegoat, and vent your spleen. Killing Bill and Hillary Clinton politically will accomplish exactly nothing except to stroke a few egos.

And isn't that half of what the Clinton haters have been screaming about anyway?

10. And again, no evidence -- just gossip.
If you say something often enough, a lot of people will believe it.

But not all of us.

12. I fear Obama would get eaten alive in the General
Given he blows every little critique wildly out of proportion. I also fear for the health of his supporters, who should consider their blood pressure. For all of Hillary's faults, at least she can take it on the chin.

Once Democrats start using republican talking points to smear other Democrats, they have joined the darkside.
