I'm getting deja vu. It's feeling like a replay of the Iraq War Debate

The Establishment, including the Conventional Wisdom Politicians and the MSM, is pushing for Hillary, overreacting to Obama's weaknesses and patting John Edwards on the head and saying "Nice little boy. You make some sense. Now go back to your room and let the adults do our work."

The Conventional Wisdom has been created. That messy little detail of the remaining primaries is just a formality. The die is cast.

The Elites have determined the outcome they want, and are sealing the deal.

What about the majority -- those who voted for Obama, Edwards and others -- who have chosen not to support Hillary so far? Many will be convinced that their only choice is to rally around the Inevitable and be on the winning side.

What about those who really dislike the Clintons and believe the country deserves better than a return to the politics and policies they represent? We're just the kooky, cranky far left. Not to be taken seriously because we're "angry" and "naive" and "utopian" and not aware of how realpolitik is supposed to work.

It is all so reminiscent of the long "debate" over the Iraq War. Those who saw the folly, those who predicted disaster, those who said the US should be better than this....We were all branded as foolish, naive, etc. And unpatriotic.

Not very long after the War on Iraq started, the "angry left" was proven to be absolutely correct. And as the war has dragged on and on, the "adults" have been forced to acknowledge their mistake. The anti-war movement earned the right to say "We told you so."

I have a depressing feeling that another "We told you so" will be earned if the Clintons are back in the White House, and the nation is enmeshed in Clintonian Psychodrama, a continuation of meaningless partisan polarization, a failure of the Clintons to deliver on their promises, a resurgent GOP, and a general sense of malaise.
